Brandon Posted November 8, 2013 Report Posted November 8, 2013 What if they hire Khari as oc and anyone new as DC and they retain Burke as hc. They bring in Collaros and some o line help. Do you think the team could do well? Could the players respond or change there attitude and actually excel. Do you think that it is at all plausible that the reason this team sucked was all on Joe Mack and lack of qb. Would you have any hope with Burke as hc. billfrank 1
Noeller Posted November 8, 2013 Report Posted November 8, 2013 I actually kind of wanna see it, just because I wanna see 17to85 go full *****, which would mean buying a Stamps jersey, and preferably Nik Lewis or a throwback Burris or something......I just wanna see that.
iso_55 Posted November 8, 2013 Report Posted November 8, 2013 Well, it would be a disaster. Let's just say that. Fans would be hugely upset. And if you think people question the way the team is run now, just wait what'll happen if they bring back Burke.
gbill2004 Posted November 8, 2013 Report Posted November 8, 2013 I have a feeling he'll be back as DC.
17to85 Posted November 8, 2013 Report Posted November 8, 2013 If they retain Burke the team will still suck. They will still not be prepared on game day and will still get their asses handed to them week in and week out. Burke is not a good head coach plain and simple and regardless of any talent issues the team may have they will never live up to the potential that they may have with Burke as head coach. Blue-urns 1
Mike Posted November 8, 2013 Report Posted November 8, 2013 I will not buy season tickets. Which in the grand scheme of things means nothing, but that's how defeated I would personally feel. Blue-urns 1
braddman19 Posted November 8, 2013 Report Posted November 8, 2013 In that situation, I think the Defence would still run awfully Hot and Cold. Burke still wouldn't make the right decisions at important times. Players would still be in Burke's doghouse.
The Unknown Poster Posted November 8, 2013 Report Posted November 8, 2013 The online fan community would be suicidal. But ultimately, by next June optimism would rule the day. Its going to be all about the talent that turns over and then how the team plays. I know most players arent going to speak out negatively but when you hear from the players they all seem to like/respect Burke. Is it BS? Maybe. But players seem to be more focused on the lack of talent and the youth as the issue. With that being said, I'd rather see him return to DC but I can't see that happen. He was asked if that was possible on the coach's show and he declined to comment saying he wouldnt know how he'd feel if he was fired as HC. I dont know what he is paid, but if the Bombers offered him his current salary to be DC and work out his contract, would he take it.
sweep the leg Posted November 8, 2013 Report Posted November 8, 2013 The online fan community would be suicidal. But ultimately, by next June optimism would rule the day. I agree with this. IMO the average fan will be much more interested in player moves than the coach. Bringing in a new qb will fill most people with optimism going into 2014.
blitzmore Posted November 8, 2013 Report Posted November 8, 2013 Burke has proven he is not head coach material...period! Blue-urns 1
road griller Posted November 8, 2013 Report Posted November 8, 2013 I would have an entire season of easy material. HardCoreBlue 1
TrueBlue Posted November 8, 2013 Report Posted November 8, 2013 In any given season, a head coach’s mark on a team is only as prominent as its record. A poor coach can still have a team that has some success. I would say the team could do well with Burke next year with the proper roster changes, but it would be in spite of Burke, not because of him. Blue-urns 1
bigg jay Posted November 8, 2013 Report Posted November 8, 2013 I will not buy season tickets. Which in the grand scheme of things means nothing, but that's how defeated I would personally feel. This. I'm waiting to see what changes they make with the GM & coach before I decide if I'll be renewing or not.
rebusrankin Posted November 8, 2013 Report Posted November 8, 2013 They will still have a poor season and they'll sell less season tickets, sell less merchandise and continue to lose more fans.
iso_55 Posted November 8, 2013 Report Posted November 8, 2013 The safer way to go would be to fire Burke. Too much baggage if he stayed around. He lacks credibility as well as believability that he's the guy who can fix this. rebusrankin 1
DR. CFL Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 So those advocating Burke as DC are going to saddle an incoming HC and GM with a DC he may not want and a PP guy he may not want. Guess you are setting him up to play the recurring blame game. These weren't my guys. Stop the cycle of fan abuse.

Guess you are setting him up to play the recurring blame game. These weren't my guys. Stop the cycle of fan abuse. I'd think that Miller is brokering this behind the scenes and is discussing with the new HC (Khari?) if they'd be willing to keep Burke on as DC for another year or two.
Captain Blue Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 We do this all over again next year except Burke throws different people under the bus? Blue-urns 1

iso_55 Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 Lots of buses available for charter at First Student.
Adrenaline_x Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 The apathy that's washed over bomber fans with deepens meaning more and more people will stop watching, carrying or following the bombers.
Mr. Perfect Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 Hey, what happens if the Bombers get Peyton Manning next year? Seriously? Pointless thread.
The Unknown Poster Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 I'm Not sure they'd sell less tickets, seasons or individuals. It's all about the roster moves. If they have a good team on paper by next spring they will sell season tickets. You're not going to have 10,000 season ticket holders dump their tickets en mass. You may have some. But they might be made up for by new ticket buyers. And I certainly agree the new coach should pick his assistants but if Burke is willing, he's potentially the best DC in the league.
comedygeek Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 If he's still there, I'm out. Plain and simple.I'll still follow the team, I'll still watch CFL football, and I'll keep my Bomber plates on my car -- but I'm not giving them 1 cent of my money. I missed so many games this year, which any other season I've had season tickets has been painful and heartbreaking, but this year meant nothing. I missed 3 games "just because". Didn't feel like the hassle to get to the other side of town was worth it. Another season with Burke, and the $300+ per year just wouldn't return any value for me. Blue-urns 1
pigseye Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 Doug Brown said it best, When you are dependent on a near-capacity crowd to meet the particulars of your business plan and debt repayment schedule, clarity and optics are key as season ticket holders contemplate renewing. The team can not afford the optics of not firing him, so there is no 'what if'. Blue-urns 1
