Jpan85 Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 Thought it would be fun to do some expansion draft predictions. So put you predictions in for who will be selected from each team below. I'll put mine up little later.
bluto Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 prediction: i will hate the REDBLACKS to the point of being physically ill after they draft one of our O-Linemen. wish we could've dealt one before it came to this.
Brandon Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 I'm mostly curious on what direction they go at for qb. Will they go young, will they sign a free agent?
Jpan85 Posted December 10, 2013 Author Report Posted December 10, 2013 B.C. Courtney Taylor WR Marco Iannuzzi WR Keynan Parker CB Edmonton Eric Samuels LB Brain Ramsey C Ryan King LS Calgary Drew Tate QB Ben D'Aguilar DL Billy Peach OL Saskatchewan Abraham Kromah LB Corey Watman OL Levi Steinhauer DL Winnipeg Marty Markett DB Kito Poblah WR Phillippe Lebon-Dubuisson LB Toronto Tony Washington OL Joe Eppele OL Jerve Tonye-Tonye LB Hamilton Greg Ellingson WR Frederic Plesius LB Dave Stala WR Montreal Aaron Lavarias DE (Could also see Tanner Marsh) Andrew Woodruff G Ismael Bamba WR Probably way off with these.
Mike Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 You may not have the names right in all spots, but I feel like you've got the general idea of what level of talent they'll get and the positions they'll focus on. Markett is a very good pick for who we may lose.
Jpan85 Posted December 10, 2013 Author Report Posted December 10, 2013 Yeah feel like they will try to get there starting O-line through the draft. The second Non-Import is a total crap shoot.

JuranBoldenRules Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 B.C. Courtney Taylor WR Ben Archibald T Keynan Parker CB . Archibald is an import.
JuranBoldenRules Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 Here's my mock protected lists. They assume that what everyone around the league is saying is true, that Ottawa won't select free agents. I didn't bother going to round 3 because quite frankly the players that will be left are not that good. Some of Ottawa's picks in the first two rounds will be marginal players if they truly avoid free agents. M.O.A.B. Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 Can't see Walters protecting Thomas ahead of Neufeld.
Noeller Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 Posted in another thread but works here too: for those who want to follow the draft live it will be available on CFL.ca
johnzo Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 Why would Edmonton protect Willis over Sherritt?
JuranBoldenRules Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 Why would Edmonton protect Willis over Sherritt? They have Curran. Sherritt has a wonky thumb that limited him or had him out of the lineup most of last season and a huge contract. Broken shin? Would be a risk from Walters perspective, but Neufeld missed nearly an entire season from a broken leg that hasn't healed and was reinjured when he tried to return. I don't believe Ottawa will select him for that reason, and I think they will be starting two import tackles anyways.

Now I get it I saw the * next to Muamba's name and the "* broken shin" at the bottom and did some bizarre correlation.
M.O.A.B. Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 Would be estatic to see - Goltz and DeAngelis taken from us on the first 2 rounds
rebusrankin Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 Would be estatic to see - Goltz and DeAngelis taken from us on the first 2 rounds Are you planning on getting Desjardins drunk the night before? blitzmore 1
iso_55 Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 I strongly believe that Nik Lewis will be protected by the Stamps over Fuller. Nik's got a couple more years in the tank & is under contract. He will be a thousand yard receiver when he returns next season. It would be a PR nightmare for the Stamps if he was drafted by Ottawa & then was an impact player there for a couple more years.. Look at the (lack of) blocking in the WDF by Price at slot. It wasn't until McDaniel went down in BC during the final regular season game & price took McDaniels spot that Lewis was sorely missed as he was so good at blocking every game. Absolutely Fuller's got talent. The question I think is Fuller going to be protected over Joe West?
Jpan85 Posted December 11, 2013 Author Report Posted December 11, 2013 The thing with Calgary is it's most likely 80% chance one of there QB's get taken so won't matter which imports are protected.
iso_55 Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 Stamps Assistant GM John Murphy was on radio here in Calgary tonight to talk about the expansion draft. He had an interesting observation about the Stampeder picks & how the organization has handled it. Only the coaches that have committed to being here next season were permitted to enter the locked room where the list was posted. It was under lock & key & only Murphy, Huff & one or two others worked on it. So, Dave Dickenson having signed a new long term agreement could go into that room & see the list but Rick Campbell, Dan Yanowski & Bob Gibson who have all left for Ottawa couldn't. Murphy explained that the CFL is a business first & in the long term peoples careers are at stake. He said to the credit of the departed coaches they understood & handled the situation well. Murphy said Huff basically told the coaches that you're either with us or you're not. The guys that couldn't commit didn't see that list. So, that's how the Stamps handled it. He said that the Stamps being a winning organization know their coaches will eventually go somewhere so it was decided to handle things this way. rebusrankin 1

Ottawa could always pick Maver then try to sign Burris or trade for Tate(I Imagine Cal would want to keep Glenn).

Saying that because Paredes will be protected.
JuranBoldenRules Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 Calgary would be crazy to not protect both kickers IMO. Harder to replace than anyone else they could lose in the second round.
