kelownabomberfan Posted June 21, 2013 Report Posted June 21, 2013 Herb Zurkowsky @HerbZurkowsky11h I'm told be a very reliable source the #Als have cut Quinton Porter. That means rookie Tanner Marsh has made the team.
rebusrankin Posted June 21, 2013 Report Posted June 21, 2013 I'd add Porter and show Clement the old apple and road map.
Fraser Posted June 21, 2013 Report Posted June 21, 2013 we've already got a tall, fast qb that makes bad decisions in goltz Floyd 1
JuranBoldenRules Posted June 21, 2013 Report Posted June 21, 2013 I'd bring Brink back first. JohnnyOnTheSpot 1
Brandon Posted June 21, 2013 Report Posted June 21, 2013 No point in bringing Porter in, we might as well sign McPherson if we are going to do that...
Mr. Perfect Posted June 21, 2013 Report Posted June 21, 2013 If our choice (Not that it would be) was between Brink and Porter, I'd be at the airport to pick Brink up. Porter is useless.
iso_55 Posted June 21, 2013 Report Posted June 21, 2013 Montreal Gazette's Herb Zurkowsky tweeted that Porter asked for his release a week ago when it became clear he wouldn't be the backup to AC. Guess Hawkins said no. Gave him one last shot yesterday.
johnzo Posted June 21, 2013 Report Posted June 21, 2013 If Porter were going to be the answer, he would've been the answer already. Pass.
kelownabomberfan Posted June 22, 2013 Author Report Posted June 22, 2013 Porter asked for his release because there are so many other teams out there wanting him as well?
iso_55 Posted June 22, 2013 Report Posted June 22, 2013 Career CFL backup. Seemed happy to carry the clipboard. Being #2 more important than being #1. Nope.
Atomic Posted June 22, 2013 Report Posted June 22, 2013 I'm guessing he'll retire. Sounded like he was leaning that way before Montreal signed him anyways.

Zontar Posted June 22, 2013 Report Posted June 22, 2013 Adding yet another QB that wont help you isnt a plan, its' just Spin the Wheel of QBs Mack has been playing for awhile now.
bluto Posted June 22, 2013 Report Posted June 22, 2013 no rush to bring him in just yet... there's at least a few weeks till your regulars are injured and unable to play.
kelownabomberfan Posted June 22, 2013 Author Report Posted June 22, 2013 no rush to bring him in just yet... there's at least a few weeks till your regulars are injured and unable to play. Boy I hope Toronto goes back to their natural position of sucking the hind *** this year...
bluto Posted June 22, 2013 Report Posted June 22, 2013 Boy I hope Toronto goes back to their natural position of sucking the hind *** this year... our natural position is having the most Grey Cup Championships and the best record by far in the Grey Cup game. and as for hoping for us to fall on hard times goes: yeah... hard times will find us eventually... but as long as Jim, Scott, Chris and Ricky are here... we'll take our chances, thanks.

It's embarrassing when people refer to athletes by their first names like they're friends. SPuDS 1
AKAChip Posted June 22, 2013 Report Posted June 22, 2013 Jim Barker is probably the furthest thing on earth to an athlete but your point is well taken. As for the topic at hand, Porter when first signed was the worst backup QB in the entire league and there is no chance in all hell that he ends up here. Brink is actually better than he is and I would argue even Levi Brown is better. I loved it when Porter came in at QB against us because he's a turnover waiting to happen. The real interesting guy here is Seth Williams who I thought was the best player in the Montreal secondary last year. I know we aren't bringing him in but a man can dream...
iso_55 Posted June 22, 2013 Report Posted June 22, 2013 It's embarrassing when people refer to athletes by their first names like they're friends. Huh? Why is saying just their first names mean he's friends with them? We know who he refers to.
Dirty30 Posted June 23, 2013 Report Posted June 23, 2013 The funny thing is Winnipeg could have easily had Jim, Scott, Chris and maybe Ricky, but we chose Joe, Paul, and Buck instead
Atomic Posted June 23, 2013 Report Posted June 23, 2013 The funny thing is Winnipeg could have easily had Jim, Scott, Chris and maybe Ricky, but we chose Joe, Paul, and Buck instead Only if you believe that the Bombers would have ponied up the money to pay Milanovich and Jones.... Easy to attract the top coaches when you're willing to pay for them.
Dirty30 Posted June 23, 2013 Report Posted June 23, 2013 Only if you believe that the Bombers would have ponied up the money to pay Milanovich and Jones.... Easy to attract the top coaches when you're willing to pay for them. Barker was emphatic during his interview with the Bombers that his plan was to bring Milanovich. Probably would have been cheaper than paying for all the ex-coaches and current coach. Are the Bombers still paying LaPo? Milanovich wanted to coach for Barker. Just saying... I feel that have the Board of Directors and their tunnel vision is preventing this club from succeeding. They are the ones who pull the strings and select the puppets. Hopefully one day this team will be purchased by a local investor and dismantle the old boys club and allow it to be the successful franchise it once was.
