17to85 Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 How can Hamilton sell that to their fanbase after a Grey Cup appearance? Yeah I really think that Grey Cup appearance screwed up Austins plans. Think he was perfectly happy to part ways with Burris but now that they made the big game how can you possibly walk away from Burris? The fans would riot.
iso_55 Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 Some coaches & general managers are arrogant & have huge egos. They're right & everybody else is wrong. Austin strikes me as that kind of guy.
Jacquie Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 Some coaches & general managers are arrogant & have huge egos. They're right & everybody else is wrong. Austin strikes me as that kind of guy. Considering Tillman is his mentor, is that a surprise.
M.O.A.B. Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 dejavu? Austin get rid of Joseph after a Grey Cup appearance (win) in 2007. Now, he'll intend to do the same with Burris?
Jpan85 Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 I think Austin had left for Old Miss before the trade happened.
JuranBoldenRules Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 How can Hamilton sell that to their fanbase after a Grey Cup appearance? How can you sell Burris to anyone with one iota of football knowledge? I guess that's the rub though.
rebusrankin Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 Hey let Hamilton go with Lefevour. Not impressed by him so far.
SPuDS Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 How can Hamilton sell that to their fanbase after a Grey Cup appearance? How can you sell Burris to anyone with one iota of football knowledge? I guess that's the rub though. Has he done anything but been effective everywhere hes played? Not to mention a GC last season and most potent offense in back to back seasons...

iso_55 Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 He used to say & do some real stupid things.... can't deny his ability but his good judgement? Well....
gbill2004 Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 Weston Dressler has a tryout with the KC Chiefs this Tuesday.
kelownabomberfan Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 I hear Jason Clermont may also be available... Rumour is that the Ti-Cats cut Stala to make room for Rocky DiPietro's big comeback.

Blueandgold Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 Wouldn't it be something if Popp left and Montreal had to hire a Head Coach and GM at this point of the year?
M.O.A.B. Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 Wouldn't it be something if Popp left and Montreal had to hire a Head Coach and GM at this point of the year? That would be an opening Tom Higgins will happily apply for.
Atomic Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 Wouldn't it be something if Popp left and Montreal had to hire a Head Coach and GM at this point of the year? Definitely wouldn't be easy, though the Higgins suggestion makes sense. Trestman left them looking for a head coach around this time last year, and they ended up with Dan Hawkins because of it.

Jacquie Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 Toronto Argonauts @TorontoArgos 15s #Argos announce they have released DB Neiko Thorpe #CFL I've read he's already got a deal with a NFL team.

Would be a perfect time to get out of Dodge .. especially with Calvillo expected to announce his retirement .. don't see Popp leaving though.

ALuCsRED Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 Shawn Churchill @ShawnChurchill 7m Saskatchewan Roughriders sign punter Brett Cameron. Son of legendary blue bomber Bob there goes the legacy Bob Cameron had to try out 9 times before sticking with the Blue Bombers... After Sask, it'll be only 7 more times to go.
Mr Dee Posted January 17, 2014 Author Report Posted January 17, 2014 Musings from rod Pederson: - Rider GM Brendan Taman revealed linebacker Craig Butler is waiting for the free agency period to find out what his market value is. I wonder about the depth of interest from the Bombers after finding this out. However, knowing how Taman feels about him and how Butler loves his bond with the RR's, I doubt anything comes of this. - Tim Tibesar, who was a defensive coordinator with the Alouettes, is rumoured to be up against Gary Etcheverry for the Bombers' DC job. Rookie Bomber coach Mike O'Shea must be agonizing over this decision because it's taking so long. He has a very strong relationship with Etch which dates back to their days with the Argos. Seeing as Tibesar has become an entrant in the DC stakes only recently, I don't know if it is agonizing as much as waiting for Walter's return to announce this information next week.
