TrueBlue Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 Doesn't seem so unusual to me. A project like this with multiple head-butting stakeholders was bound for a result like this. http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/local/Contractor-places-lien-on-new-Bomber-stadium--239455851.html
IC Khari Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 As one of the comments on the FP story said ... "Lien On Me" No biggie, part of doing business nowadays unfortunately ...
iso_55 Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 I don't think this part of doing business. There's a funding shortfall because of cost overruns. It has to be taken care of. Someone will have to write the cheque.
Armchair GM Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 A builder's lien this long after completion indicates that bills aren't paid, and are likely being disputed. It's definitely not just a part of doing business. It is likely either a portion of the cost overruns, or unpaid interest on overdue construction monies, noting that it is less than 1% of the stadium's cost.
iso_55 Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 We're talking 1% of the cost. For cryin' out loud Sellinger, have your govt write the cheque & be done with it.
The Unknown Poster Posted January 11, 2014 Report Posted January 11, 2014 One million bucks isn't worth the embarrassment. Stupid. This government....I tell ya iso_55 1
DR. CFL Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 And the government should be led to believe that the bailout is going to end there?
