gbill2004 Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 I've heard of the following workouts for Bombers players, or players of interest. Am I missing any? Henoc: Denver, New England Chris Matthews: Minnesota, Seattle Zach Collaros: None Zach Collaros having none is a positive for us.
Armchair GM Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 Henoc in NE scares me the most of that list. NE is famous for taking undersized players and developing them into a role. Muamba's young enough, and enough of a ST demon to stick on that roster if they do take him on as a project.
Dirty30 Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 I don't know why but I don't think it matters if Henoc signs with an NFL team or not. I don't believe he'll re-sign with the Bombers.
sweep the leg Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 I don't know why but I don't think it matters if Henoc signs with an NFL team or not. I don't believe he'll re-sign with the Bombers. I've convinced myself that he will. I think he'll have the ability to earn more outside sources of income here than he would anywhere else, and I can't imagine any other team will outbid us for him. Plus he's been here for three years and would be playing with his brother again.
Mike Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 Seems like a lot of people have a defeatist attitude regarding Henoc.
gbill2004 Posted January 10, 2014 Author Report Posted January 10, 2014 I'm optimistic that Henoc will be back with the Bombers.
Brandon Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 Seems like a lot of people have a defeatist attitude regarding Henoc. Are you referring to fans or the club?
Jpan85 Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 If he stays in the CFL it will be with the Bombers
Dirty30 Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 Maybe with O'Shea being an ex-CDN LB he and Henoc will make a connection that may influence Him to re-sign.
rebusrankin Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 I have a bad feeling he goes elsewhere in the CFL.
Dascow Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 Seems like a lot of people have a defeatist attitude regarding Henoc. I think that is a product of the last couple of years. Losing LaBatte was a huge blow to the psyche of many Bomber fans. I don't know why but lately I can't help but feel the worst is coming.
pigseye Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 Should have traded him last season, like Alex Hall, for NI linemen and/or a QB. We'd be in the same position as now with him as a free agent and an opportunity to re-sign him. Jolt'in Joe missed the boat on that one.
Floyd Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 RedBlacks will take a major run at Henoc if he stays... that said, we'll be in the running
SPuDS Posted January 11, 2014 Report Posted January 11, 2014 Henoc will be a bomber if he doesnt land a gig down south.. why? Cuz walters isnt an idiot and wont be outbid for him..
Jpan85 Posted January 11, 2014 Report Posted January 11, 2014 Have you guys not seen the importance that this club has now invested in Canadians since the end of the season. They are not going to let the best young non import go. Atomic 1
17to85 Posted January 11, 2014 Report Posted January 11, 2014 I am absolutely not worried about the Bombers losing Muamba to another CFL team. They've already shown him the money and would likely be locked up if he wasn't getting some NFL interest. SPuDS 1
DR. CFL Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 His family is in Southern Ontario do you not believe that will be an influencing factor in where he might want to play?

Henoc I believe will be a Bomber if he does not land a gig down south. Wouldn't call my attitude "defeatist"... but if there is one NFL team that has made a living off of scouting and deploying undersized players well, it's New England. He likely is not a walk on, onto that defense, but the fact that Henoc has proven a CFL success at MLB, and is a special teams demon, makes NE a scary destination for Bomber fans. He could certainly be a ST gunner for the Patriots, if they believe he is worth it as a project LB down the road.
17to85 Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 His family is in Southern Ontario do you not believe that will be an influencing factor in where he might want to play? everything we've seen from the guy so far indicates that his main goal is to get paid and who is going to pay him more than the Bombers will?
iso_55 Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 Lots of players are playing in cities where their families don't come from. It's a matter of paying guys what they should be paid & they're happy. Some will still want to live close to family. Others don't care.
kelownabomberfan Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 I wish Henoc all the best with his NFL try-outs. If he leaves it's not the end of the world. It would force us to go at least 4 NI's on the O-Line and to build Canadian depth at the tackle position. If we find a decent import middle LB I don't see much of a downgrade at the position. I wouldn't want to hold Henoc back either. That being said, he jumps ship to another CFL team I'll be unhappy. Sometimes **** happens though, look at Fantuz, and of course Labatte.
Blueandgold Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 His family is in Southern Ontario do you not believe that will be an influencing factor in where he might want to play? His brother is currently his teammate, which would influence him much more. It seems as if $$$$ is his primary objective though.
DR. CFL Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 Not sure why you might think it is all about the money? He might get money and location at the same time.
iso_55 Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 I think in the CFL it has to be about the money. Players don't get paid like the NFL so if a guy like Muamba or Collaros can cash in, he'll probably take it...There's no CFL team willing to pay Muamba $2 million a season to play but takes a home team discount at $1.5 mill to stay. As far as CFL contracts go, I have no idea what the top linebackers make but he should be at the top of the list & the Bombers should do whatever it takes to re-sign him & not be outbid.

The Bombers won't be outbid. Walters has said a countless number of times that the Bombers will match any offer Henoc gets. My sense is that playing at home isn't that big of a deal for Henoc. There are a lot of very good football programs at universities in southern Ontario but he chose to go to Antigonish and play at StFX.
