Mr Dee Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 Not counting Sundays, there are 17 days left to sign our own FAs. Do the Bombers have a say in all the FAs we have to sign or do circumstances exist where we have no chance? For me, at least to get to TC: Desirable signings - Some for obvious reasons, some for NI content, some for experience: Henoc Muamba, Chris Matthews, Jade Etienne, Brandon Stewart, Will Ford, Jovon Johnson, Akeem Foster, Kenny Mainor, Justin Sorensen, Marc Parenteau. Signings if it makes sense - Again, ratio-wise and depth, new signings: JT Gilmore, , Ryan Lucas, Chris Cvetkovic, Chris Kowalczuk, Dan West. Not a Priority - Injuries…. Chad Simpson, Andre Douglas. For comparison: (not including retired, suspended or released) BC - …………..0 - 5 signings Edmonton…….4 - 11 Calgary……….10 - 17 Sask…………..3 - 17 WBB…………..6 - 18 Hamilton………1 -6 Toronto……….1 - 10 Montreal………8 -17 The Bombers have 79 60 players listed on their roster page including all eligible FAs. There are 34 imports and 32 26 NIs. However, I can't imagine injured players like Sims-Walker will be back nor Bo Smith, nor Boltus (but that's just my wish)
gbill2004 Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 Guys I'd prefer not seeing back: Jovon Johnson, Kenny Mainor, Andre Douglas, Chad Simpson, Chris Cvetkovic, Bo Smith, Jason Boltus, Cauchy Muamba. I've heard conflicting info on Sims-Walker and his knee. I sure hope to see him back; he was a monster in the one game he started at WR.
Mike Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 I'd like to see Gilmore back just because I'm convinced he'd turn into a beast if he actually got some PT. Noeller, blitzmore and Blue-urns 3
Armchair GM Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 We like Will Ford over Chad Simpson now? Flavor of the week? Or do we actually think he's a better RB than Simpson?

Jpan85 Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 Ford tweeted out last week that his back was all screwed up last year.
Logan007 Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 Ford is alright, but nothing I'd get my panties in a bunch over. I'd rather try out some new talent if we're going for an Import at RB.
Armchair GM Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 We like Will Ford over Chad Simpson now? Flavor of the week? Or do we actually think he's a better RB than Simpson? Thank you. Simpson all day over Ford. Complete package minus the afterburners.
Guest Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 Problem is Simpson is always injured, it's probably time the team brings in a starting RB, Ford doesn't look to be that guy and Simpson rarely starts.
Dirty30 Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 So can someone clarify whether or not Andrew Harris is or is not a FA? There was lots of talk at the end of the season that he may be interested in coming home to play. What was that about as I can't seem to find it anywhere that states that he will be a FA.
gbill2004 Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 Simpson has chronic foot problems, plus he gave up on the team last season. I doubt we ever see him back. Blue-urns 1
johnzo Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 What's up with Chris Garrett? Is his career done? I don't see him on the Bombers' roster.
gbill2004 Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 What's up with Chris Garrett? Is his career done? I don't see him on the Bombers' roster. That's because he signed with Saskatchewan.

Harris not a potential FA. Some people thought he was but they were wrong.

voodoochylde Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 We like Will Ford over Chad Simpson now? Flavor of the week? Or do we actually think he's a better RB than Simpson? Flavour of the week. Was saying it all last season .. would rather have had Garrett than Ford.
Mike Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 Garrett runs angry. Simpson runs angry. Ford does not run angry.
Guest Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 Ford does not run angry. Ford : [chuckles] Ford : You wouldn't like me when I run angry.
DR. CFL Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 Simpson ran himself out of town and quit on his team Atomic 1
Brandon Posted January 29, 2014 Report Posted January 29, 2014 So can someone clarify whether or not Andrew Harris is or is not a FA? There was lots of talk at the end of the season that he may be interested in coming home to play. What was that about as I can't seem to find it anywhere that states that he will be a FA. Harris not a potential FA. Some people thought he was but they were wrong. Which is unfortunate since he was very under utilized last season. Now just for the fun / sake of it.... what if the Bombers traded 1st rounder and some other player straight up for Harris. Would anyone be for/against this?
Mr Dee Posted February 2, 2014 Author Report Posted February 2, 2014 No updates so far on FAs yet but…. Congratulations are in order to the Winnipeg Blue Bomber fan base for getting past the 1st portion of the awf-season in relatively good shape considering we've been slapped around here and there. For the rest of Feb. it should be a whirlwind of activity involving announcing our Coaching staff, the Burris Files, signing a squad of our own FAs, and...vulturing the picks of the remaining FAs come Feb. 15th. Pay close attention.
bigg jay Posted February 3, 2014 Report Posted February 3, 2014 2 less potential FA's - Ryan Lucas & Chris Kowalczuk have been resigned per Darren Cameron.
Floyd Posted February 3, 2014 Report Posted February 3, 2014 2 less potential FA's - Ryan Lucas & Chris Kowalczuk have been resigned per Darren Cameron. This off-season just gets more and more underwhelming. These two guys are probably the absolute lowest priority signings we have.

Or just sign them and not announce it? I don't get the negative spin on this. It just "is". blitzmore, Logan007 and Blue-urns 3
