NotoriousBIG Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 Eskimos release S Donovan Alexander. Any interest? Maybe cut Cauchy and bring in Alexander at a lower price... Yes please.
M.O.A.B. Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 send Cauchy to Ottawa for a pick, then sign Alexander. or Walters can exchange Cauchy + rights to Robertson for Kyle Koch or K-Groh, then we can fix our problem with C.
Mr Dee Posted February 20, 2014 Author Report Posted February 20, 2014 send Cauchy to Ottawa for a pick Do they have a 10th round pick in the CFL? Besides, Cauchy's too young for Ottawa.
iso_55 Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 Keron Williams still available. Robert McCune still available & now Alexander. Hope we make a play on all 3 even if we sign one.
Brandon Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 Donovan Alexander gets burned all of the time, he is always out of place and is awful. I'd rather bring in Ian Logan back over him.
Tracker Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 Heck, bring him home and let him fight for a spot on the roster. Its not as if Cauchy has unquestionably been the answer, so let 'em prove who's best for the job.
Blueandgold Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 With Newman, Bucknor and Cauchy I don't think there's much of a need for Alexander.
gbill2004 Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 With Newman, Bucknor and Cauchy I don't think there's much of a need for Alexander. Don't forget about Kris Robertson who is also expected in camp.
DR. CFL Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 Alexander was fast that was his claim to fame. He was a corner in college and has never been very fond of hitting anyone. Unfortunately he became a starter by default in Edmonton. Thanks but no thanks

Thanks but no thanks If he can get himself into position to just get in the way some of the time he'd be better than any NI we played at safety last season.

JJ was inserted at Safety for a game or two. Wasn't bad there, considering. (Sorry just re-read that you meant NI's). Yes, a bit harsh. But not too harsh.
gbill2004 Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 According to Rod Pederson, 4 teams have made offers to Jock Sanders. I wonder if the Bombers are one of those 4 teams? He'd likely command a salary in the $120k range but he is extremely versatile; he's a RB, SB, KR and PR. Only 26 years old.

Seems way high for a guy that isn't going to play more than about 30% of your offensive snaps.
Jpan85 Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 Could Aaron Woods not do everything that Sanders would do
gbill2004 Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 Could Aaron Woods not do everything that Sanders would do In theory, yes he probably could. Just haven't seen it yet.
Brandon Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 Could Aaron Woods not do everything that Sanders would doIn theory, yes he probably could. Just haven't seen it yet. Yes we did...until he got hurt. The guy is plenty good enough And I'd rather that extra money go to Glenn or McCune
gbill2004 Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 @FarhanLaljiTSN: #BCLions have just released Paris Jackson. Also Dante Marsh has agreed to an extension. #CFL

Paris Jackson was barely hanging on last season and had to take a pay cut to do so. A good guy, but no longer young, good or cheap enough.
Mr Dee Posted February 23, 2014 Author Report Posted February 23, 2014 Kirk Penton, in conversation about Bombers Canadian depth : JOHN SNIVELY @Snivealive75 59m @PentonKirk Who are they planning on starting at rec besides Watson if there planning on starting 2 Canadians ? #bombers JOHN SNIVELY @Snivealive75 55m @PentonKirk let me answer my own question, Kolhort and Watson? Carter has been training in Atlanta W/ Milt, but depth is an issue . Kirk Penton @PentonKirk 34m @Snivealive75 Yes, Kohlert and Watson. And don't forget Carter isn't even a member of the Bombers right now.
rebusrankin Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 Does Penton do any research? Pretty obvious its Kolhert and Watson.
gbill2004 Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 Does Penton do any research? Pretty obvious its Kolhert and Watson. Penton wasn't asking the question. That was a fan asking that question to Penton.
Bomber Diehard Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 Penton is possibly Winnipeg's best football media fellow right now. Ed Tait is good but a lot of time with our Jets. I like Kirk as he is approachable and a good down to earth nice guy.
