I remember Bucknor's name, but not a lot about his performance. Dropping from a regular starter in 2012 to a part time player in 2013 doesn't sound promising, although to be fair it's generally harder for a Canadian to get playing time in the secondary.

 

I wonder if this is a case of Aprile not wanting to come back, or if Walters knows we're getting a few of our Canadian receivers back and doesn't need him.

SP teams guy who in a pinch during a game can go in a play corner. They wanted to upgrade CND depth these types of moves do that. Get a guy you know can play for guy that you are not sure if ever becomes a player.

Bucknor for Aprile works for me as it seems interest from Aprile plummeted after the failed switch-to-safety fiasco.

 

Now we can better see the behind the scenes backdrop for signing NI receivers Brescacin and Feoll-Gudino.

To me, this is a positive development.  I figured Aprile would "retire" to pursue his teaching career or what ever it was and then eventually show up on the Ticats PR.  Getting something for him is a pleasant surprise.

What's your opinion of Dan West based on?  A very mild upgrade, if at all.

As long as he does not take out Watson in practice Bucknor right there is a upgrade.

Aside from it looking as though Aprile wasn't planning on playing here, this is another meh trade. Happy to see that Walters is being proactive, but IMO making moves just for the sake of it, isn't going to make our team much better.

Bucknor is moderately usefull and experienced but wasnt going to get much playing time here. HAM needs CDN depth at rec., trade makes sense.

Aprile did separate his shoulder late in 2013... maybe there is something more to it.
