gbill2004 Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 @byronparker28: Thank you to all of the fans of Montreal. Just found out that I am now a FREE AGENT. Thank u also to Jim Popp and all the coaches. #CFL
M.O.A.B. Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 hope he turn into coaching and join Oshea's crew.
gbill2004 Posted January 31, 2014 Author Report Posted January 31, 2014 He's only 32 years old. I'd expect he'll keep playing.
gbill2004 Posted January 31, 2014 Author Report Posted January 31, 2014 I hope the timing of his release has nothing to do with the Als clearing cap space to make Burris a significant offer.
Brandon Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 I hope the timing of his release has nothing to do with the Als clearing cap space to make Burris a significant offer. I was going to say the very same thing as a joke. I hope you were also joking.... Back to topic I wonder if the Blue would want him rather then Banks?
Guest Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 Parker is another player who's on the downward trend, getting slower with age (not that he was that fast to begin with) and honestly hasn't looked good at all the past couple of season's. Yet another pass................ hopefully.
gbill2004 Posted January 31, 2014 Author Report Posted January 31, 2014 Just because a player is on the downturn of their career, doesn't mean they don't have value. We still need leaders and players who will instill confidence in the group.
JuranBoldenRules Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 I've heard Glen Suitor say his name before, so he's probably good.
iso_55 Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 We have one thing going for us, Winnipeg is a lot closer to Calgary than Montreal. Hank has a house & lives in Calgary with his wife & kids. When he retires he says he'll remain there.
17to85 Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 Just because a player is on the downturn of their career, doesn't mean they don't have value. We still need leaders and players who will instill confidence in the group. They why do people want to run Jovon Johnson out of town on a rail? It's the same situation, older veteran leader on the downslope and fans want to ship out out ASAP. Just because we don't follow other teams as closely doesn't mean the same thing doesn't happen to players on other teams.
yogi Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 he was making 400k a season in Montreal Mike 1
Jacquie Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 he was making 400k a season in Montreal Byron Parker? No, he wasn't. The only person making $400,000 in Montreal was AC.
comedygeek Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 I'm pretty sure he was kidding. he was making 400k a season in Montreal Byron Parker? No, he wasn't. The only person making $400,000 in Montreal was AC.
Jacquie Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 I'm pretty sure he was kidding. Considering some of the wild salary claims made here lately, are you sure?
Logan007 Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 I'm pretty sure he was kidding. Considering some of the wild salary claims made here lately, are you sure? I think that's WHY he was kidding. LOL. FYI, I heard Etienne was offered 400K to resign.
Mike Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 I've heard Glen Suitor say his name before, so he's probably good. what's his Madden rating from 2009 though?
sweep the leg Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 Of the two vet dbs we've talked about, I'd much rather have Banks. SPuDS 1
SPuDS Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 Of the two vet dbs we've talked about, I'd much rather have Banks. IF we need that vet presence and IF we are considering signing one of these archaic DB/OLB's then yup. Banks gets my vote as he would be a better nose tackle in etch's defense then Parker
rebusrankin Posted February 2, 2014 Report Posted February 2, 2014 Only $400,000? I hear A.C. made $3,500,000 plus kickbacks from the construction industry.
Fred C Dobbs Posted February 2, 2014 Report Posted February 2, 2014 The only person making $400,000 in Montreal was AC. Which is why Montreal can throw lots of cash at Burris, if they want to.
Brandon Posted February 2, 2014 Report Posted February 2, 2014 he was making 400k a season in Montreal Byron Parker? No, he wasn't. The only person making $400,000 in Montreal was AC. Bo Bowling was near the half million mark also! He got a bonus for each time Rod Black said his name!
Guest Posted February 3, 2014 Report Posted February 3, 2014 While Parker would be another guy that would come in and add leadership, I'm not crazy about the idea of potentially bringing in someone who can't and is too slow to play man coverage. He did flourish with zone defense under Stubler though, but that was quite a few years ago.
