IC Khari Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 Next up on the disappointment train wreck that is called the Blue Bomber Free Agent signing process, Mr. Drew Willy. You'd think he'd want starter's money and the opportunity to be the man on a CFL team wouldn't he? My prediction? He'll sign in Ottawa BTW Max Hall just sent a thank you text to the Ottawa GM LOL
braddman19 Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 My guess? Won't. You would think he would want starter's money, and a starting spot..... but maybe he just doesn't want it in Winnipeg (and that is the main factor IMHO) Fingers crossed though...
Dirty30 Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 For the love of god send a pick to the Riders for Willy and get him signed!!!
Floyd Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 Willy's agent can now ask for $250k plus from the bombers... just because we're the 'only starting spot' doesn't necessarily mean anyone will sign here. 'Starting spot' can quickly deteriorate to 'end of career'. Trade for Joey, at least, he knows what he's up against.
sweep the leg Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 I have full confidence that we'll find a way to not get this done. iso_55 1
Logan007 Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 Is there a plan D? As in D for Drew Willy? Why do I think it won't happen either?
DR. CFL Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 What is the Vegas line on Willy signing in Montreal? Any takers?
braddman19 Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 I think what is becoming very apparent it that if the Bombers want to sign FA's one thing has to happen: OVERPAY. Players don't want to come here it seems, and the only way to overcome that is to pay more money.
IC Khari Posted February 4, 2014 Author Report Posted February 4, 2014 Willy is plan C ... wondering who plan D is?
Jpan85 Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 Maybe when it all shakes down we finally get a break and the last guy available was the best choice. Its about time we get some luck. Noeller 1
voodoochylde Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 Maybe when it all shakes down we finally get a break and the last guy available was the best choice. Its about time we get some luck. I hear he's still under contract in Indy .. ;-)
Logan007 Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 Willy is plan C ... wondering who plan D is? I know I was joking.
The Unknown Poster Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 Wont. Unless his desire to start is foremost in his mind. But if Im Willy, I say "$300,000 or dont bother calling me". Bombers are now desperate as much as I hate to say it. Sure, Glenn likely becomes available but Ottawa is going to get sneaky and try to get our first round pick for him. Walters wont do that but ultimately, if we cant sign a player, we will have to trade for one under contract. If Glenn and Marcel dont get along, oh boy. We're scraping the barrel here. Max Hall is looking pretty good right now.
Logan007 Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 Willy is not worth 300K. I don't care if he's the last man standing.

iso_55 Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 Willy is not worth 300K. I don't care if he's the last man standing. Well then, what? You tell us. Stay the course. Play Hall? Re-up Goltz??? The optimists can say what they want that this is February but bottom line this team is in huge trouble... And I don't mean just on the field. They have to start paying back that huge stadium loan this year. If fans stay away... well the scenario is dire.

Something bad happens, therefore we should over-react to it. I may be sad/unhappy/let down, that Burris and Collaros didn't sign here, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna run around like a chicken with it's head cut off in a panicked state throwing money at some QB who hasn't proven himself. You gotta keep your head on and keep playing the game, otherwise you're giving everyone the upper hand and all we're going to end up with is even more garbage then last year. voodoochylde 1

Even more garbage than last year? That's not possible.

JuranBoldenRules Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 Willy is not worth 300K. I don't care if he's the last man standing. He's worth what Collaros got IMO. He has similar numbers (about 150 fewer throws), a better arm and throwing mechanics. Much rather overpay Willy than Burris or Glenn. Blue-urns 1
rebusrankin Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 The way things have gone, I predict he spurns us too.
Maudie fingerjammer Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 Red blacks can't afford Burris and glenn
gbill2004 Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 When the cap goes from $4.4 million to $5 million this season, they can.
