rebusrankin Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Josh Bourke OT Ted Laurent DT Craig Butler S/LB All NIs, all free agents to be. Maybe we get lucky and sign one or two of them?
gbill2004 Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Bourke would be a dream. But any one of those would be a huge success, along with Drew Willy.
Mr. Perfect Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 See now Bourke is a guy that you could justify over spending on. That being said, not sure you can overspend on easily the best non import left tackle in the CFL. Noeller 1
Noeller Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 ...and if you have a plan for guys like this, THIS is why you don't drop a metric **** ton of cash on a 39 year old QB...

Move him to right tackle... he's played there before anyways. Or relegate him to backup and start 5 NI OL.
JuranBoldenRules Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 I'd go pretty hard after Laurent, but I think he's headed to the NFL. Butler lives in Vancouver...and BC's been looking for a NI safety since Tad Crawford started sucking.
gbill2004 Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 How much would a guy like Bourke cost...starting QB money?

JuranBoldenRules Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 How much would a guy like Bourke cost...starting QB money? Probably like $185,000-$200,000. Nobody is really desperate for NI tackles with the way most teams are using the ratio, and he's got injury concerns.

road griller Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Not worth mortgaging the future for good football players. It does not make sense imo.

We would have to overpay because he has roots in that city. Can't see that happening.
Atomic Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 How about Shea Emry? I know most people don't like him, but he would help us with the ratio if and when Henoc leaves.
iso_55 Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Emery might be easier to get just because he's an American & MAY not live there year round.... But I'd think he'd be an untouchable.
JuranBoldenRules Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Emery might be easier to get just because he's an American & MAY not live there year round.... But I'd think he'd be an untouchable. Not an American. From Vancouver.
iso_55 Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Yeah, right. Thanks as I forgot. Probably also established in Montreal.... Or Vancouver. Hard to pry Canadian CFL vets out of their cities if they have played there for a long time. have to pay significantly more. No hometown discount.

Hard to pry Canadian CFL vets out of their cities if they have played there for a long time. have to pay significantly more. No hometown discount. True but if we are saving money on a QB, and Henoc goes to the NFL, I imagine we'll have some cash to throw around. We need Canadian starters. By my count, if things stay the way they are, there are 6 Canadian starters from other teams that will hit free agency... Bourke, Laurent, Butler, Myddelton, Kohlert, and Emry. It would be nice to land one or more of those names. Mr Dee 1
Mr Dee Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 I think we have a reasonable shot at Myddelton and Kohlert…hey, it's a start.

That's ok then, we can trade his ass for Glenn, although Ottawa may already have one ass too many. (Burris - the new volley begins)
iso_55 Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 While I don't blame Hank for taking the money & running, he sure pisses off fanbases wherever he goes, doesn't he?
