kelownabomberfan Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 man are those Eskimo uniforms ugly.
Stickem Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Haven't we seen enough of injured quarterbacks..Nichols might have been good a couple of years ago, but limping in here and reminding us of Buck would be bringing back some bad memories, and a tuff sell to the fans. No thanks. Hervey can peddle him somewhere else.
iso_55 Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Would you give up a starter, say Jason Vega for example & our first draft pick for Kevin Glenn? Because now, that is realistically what it is going to take to get him here.
Adrenaline_x Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Meh... bring him in.. If he sucks or get Injured then cut/ ir him.. If we don't have glenn or another proven starter, bring in the best backups and let them fight it out for "starting" qb on our team.. maybe we get lucky.. maybe all our QB are put in the IR. BUT... we know that the QBs we currently have on the roster would not be starting on any other team. Give up a conditional draft pick? Sure.. but don't go crazy.. Blue-urns 1
Guest Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Depending on the pick that the Eskimos would want, the Bombers should try and get this done. While the injuries are without question a concern, if Nichols is and can stay healthy, he's a gooder. IMO I actually think he's much better than Reilly and Willy, again though the injury history has to be taken into consideration.
road griller Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 Don't give them picks, let them have our 4 highest paid players. Not sure who that is anymore and if we need them but it is never too early to start dumping salary. #nowzthetime! road griller 1

We need impact NIs and help on the OL, would rather pick up a quality OL that will improve the OL.
SPuDS Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 For team with no QB, we sure are picky, maybe that's the problem. Seriously? You dont think we need to be at this point? We can ill afford another round of "will he pan out" as its simply a tough way to get to starter.. id rather go with a no name scouted by manus then a broken neverwas
Blueandgold Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 Would you give up a starter, say Jason Vega for example & our first draft pick for Kevin Glenn? Because now, that is realistically what it is going to take to get him here. Ottawa can't afford to take him to camp. The longer we wait them out the more the price drops. Ottawa needs to get rid of Glenn more than any team including the Bombers need Kevin Glenn themselves.
iso_55 Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 I think it has to be Glenn they go after.... Sign Willy (if he'll come) then trade for Glenn. I think we'll end up giving up our first rounder to those assholes in Ottawa.

We've seriously got to stop assuming what other teams are going to do.
iso_55 Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 The one team I hope someday we pound is Ottawa. Laying up 70 points on that douchebag Desjardins even wouldn't be enough for me. Hope the Bombers have a long memory.

We've seriously got to stop assuming what other teams are going to do. To think that Ottawa will ask for anything less than our first round pick is ludicrous. And yes, they can afford to take Glenn to camp. I believe they will if they can't get a deal done. I'd like to see Glenn tell Desjardins to go **** himself & say he won't report to training camp. Think of himself for once instead of being a nice guy & a team player. Desjardins screwed him over. Now he should do the same back. That would be sweet revenge.

Zontar Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 Not seeing how Nichols is better than Max Hall. robynjt 1
iso_55 Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 More athletic. Stronger arm... I like Hall as he seems to have adapted well to the CFL game. The guy seems pretty intelligent but he has deficiencies like lack of arm strength.... He ,ay grow into a legit CFL starter someday. Blue-urns 1
Jacquie Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 SMS-wise they can afford to take Glenn to camp but can they afford to take one (possibly 2) unhappy QB(s) to camp. Could end up causing problems in the locker room.

I'm hoping as he has never been a part of the Ottawa organization on the field, he does tell the RedBlacks to go suck on an egg.

kelownabomberfan Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 Nichols is an upgrade on what we have now, even if he shows up at camp with one foot pointed the wrong way. blitzmore and Blue-urns 2
johnzo Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 Ottawa can't afford to take him to camp. The longer we wait them out the more the price drops. Ottawa needs to get rid of Glenn more than any team including the Bombers need Kevin Glenn themselves. According to Naylor on TSN, Glenn's compensation is based largely on the number of starts he makes. If he's not the starter, he's more affordable. The market for Glenn could heat up fast during the season if a starting QB or two has a season-ending injury. I think Desjardins can afford to be patient and wait until the moment of maximum desperation. His team is extremely thin, expectations for it are low and he's got a grace period to work with. He has to be sure he gets good value for his only real tradeable asset.
17to85 Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 Not seeing how Nichols is better than Max Hall. because he plays for a different team. Bomber fans do this all the time. Everyone here is useless anyone who has shown any remote spark on another team is automatically better. johnzo and Logan007 2
Tracker Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 Nichols is an upgrade on what we have now, even if he shows up at camp with one foot pointed the wrong way. Nichols is definitely an upgrade over Goltz, but then there are no end of QB hopefuls who are. When Nichols was healthy, he was effective in a very lame offense, and unless Max Hall has improved a whole bunch since last year, Nichols is way better than him, too. The only question is whether Hervey is going to be rigid in what he thinks Nichols is worth. Blue-urns and blitzmore 2
Mr Dee Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 Nichols is an upgrade on what we have now, even if he shows up at camp with one foot pointed the wrong way. Certainly would confuse more tacklers on the option play. Blue-urns 1
sweep the leg Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 Not seeing how Nichols is better than Max Hall. I don't see it either. I like Hall. I'm normally not a fan of qbs who lack athleticism, but I thought he showed ok considering what he was working with. iso_55 1
