Mr. Perfect Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Kirk Penton @PentonKirk 7m The #Bombers have released Henoc Muamba so he can pursue NFL opportunities.
sweep the leg Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Good. He sucks anyways... Logan007, Noeller and iso_55 3
Noeller Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 ha ha...that was actually pretty good. Tough to lose the guy, but hopefully it works out in the end. Not much you can do when a guy has an opportunity like this. Gotta let him take his shot! Congrats Henoc!! johnzo 1
Valderan_CA Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Walters dropping the ball again (amirite?!) Noeller 1
Jpan85 Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Good on Henoc if anyone deserves this shot its him. Noeller 1
Mr. Perfect Posted February 5, 2014 Author Report Posted February 5, 2014 Why would Walters cut him! What an idiot! He should have matched the NFL offer!.... Congrats to Henoc. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Noeller and Mr Dee 2
TrueBlue Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 All the best to Henoc. Guy is class act, and a beast on the field. Hope we see him back one day. Noeller 1
pigseye Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 So we basically got one year out of our first overall pick.........
voodoochylde Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Happy for Muamba getting an opportunity down south .. but as a Bomber fan .. losing a quality NI is a swift kick in the nuts .. knowing our luck the last while .. it wouldn't shock me if Muamba now signs with another CFL team as opposed to a specific NFL opportunity .. (tongue and cheek)
Mike Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 I fully expect to win no more than 4 games in 2014.
pigseye Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Like JBR said, there is no quick fix to this mess and it will take years of proper drafting and the right moves to recover from.
17to85 Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Why would Walters cut him! What an idiot! He should have matched the NFL offer!.... Congrats to Henoc. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. He should have at least traded his rights to an NFL team and got SOMETHING for the guy, now he's lost him for nothing. Noeller 1
Booch Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Yeah he may get signed, but a signing bonus may be the tell tale time if he even makes it to camp. He could be signed now, and released in May, or sometime before camp even starts, or shortly after mini camp. Not a real loss in my opinion, sure he is a good player, and Canadian, but I never liked a Canadian in that spot, especially if you don't have solid non-import depth or ability to start 8 or 9 so if he goes down, you have adequate replacement. That position isn't a game changer and responsible for 30-4 wins all on its own during a year anyway.YOu can probably get 2 imports to fill his spot for same price it would cost us to sign him anyway, actually probably a lot less, and truth be told could probably do a better job if or new scouting system and recruiting is worth what we hope it is.I would have no problem with Mcune from T.O there, and can prob get him for half the price if not less, and i bet he is more of a presence.Use this money to upgrade offers to o-line, maybe a non import d-lineman, get it so we can have 8 solid canadians who can start and start well...fill in the gaps.I can't see if things don't pan out him not signing back here at a prorated contract, so cross that bridge when it comes...all is not lost and in a way this could allow us to be a deeper more solid team anyway Atomic and voodoochylde 2
Jacquie Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Yeah he may get signed, but a signing bonus may be the tell tale time if he even makes it to camp. Signing bonus will mean little. The NFL limits the amount of bonus money teams can spend on certain FAs (undrafted FAs, CFL FAs who haven't been signed by the NFL previously) to something like $70,000 total (not per player).

It's not allowed. Thanks for clearing that up. Logan007 1

pigseye Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 He should have been moved last year when Alex Hall was, the writing was on the wall from day one, piss poor management has and is this teams biggest draw back.
sweep the leg Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 He should have been moved last year when Alex Hall was, the writing was on the wall from day one, piss poor management has and is this teams biggest draw back. Congratulations on your rock solid hindsight logic. Any ideas who we should draft last year? Mr Dee 1
kelownabomberfan Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 I fully expect to win no more than 4 games in 2014. So we'll be a better team with out Henoc eh?
braddman19 Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Good luck to Henoc, Now we can hopefully find some import MLB's to fill the spot, for a cheaper price tag.
braddman19 Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 And then, in a cruel twist of fate after being released to pursue an NFL job..... Henoc will sign with Ottawa before free agency opens LOL. My bold prediction, you heard it here first.
pigseye Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Hindsight?? There were many fans last year who thought this way last season, hindsight has nothing to do with it.
Mike Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 He should have been moved last year when Alex Hall was, the writing was on the wall from day one, piss poor management has and is this teams biggest draw back. The best way to get a player to return to your franchise after an NFL stint is to alienate them and make them feel as unwanted as possible on their way out.
pigseye Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 When/if Muamba comes back to the CFL it is going to be about the money, not how often we kissed his butt on the way out.
