Jpan85 Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 Was hoping for more Friday games need to take less days off to make the drive in from Regina.
Chaosmonkey Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 Hope everyone likes Thursday night games.............
Mike Posted February 12, 2014 Author Report Posted February 12, 2014 It won't be me but no doubt some people are going to complain about the 7:30 PM start times, especially with so many Thursday games.
Mr. Perfect Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 One Friday night home game? Yikes....
The Unknown Poster Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 Whats the deal with Tuesday Aug 12?
saskbluefan Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 My thoughts. Bye week in the final week of the season is sort of weird. Also, the Saturday games during hockey season are now at night so double header with the Jets chances are increased since the Jets usually play Saturday home games in the day. I've always suspected True North doesn't like those double headers so we'll see how that plays out.
The Unknown Poster Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 I thought our traffic concerns would result in lobbying for more weekend games but hopefully we've got that figured out.
sweep the leg Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 If we manage to make the playoffs, that bye at the end of the season might work out well.
BlueGoldBozo Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 Yes Thursday games !!!!!!! I always watched Thursday games regardless of who plays ! And none of the stupid Saturday afternoon games in summer !!!!!!
Mike Posted February 12, 2014 Author Report Posted February 12, 2014 Also just noticed that Ottawa has a bye week in week 1 so we're going to be their first game.

True North might not like being the second half of the double header due to the "day long party drinkers". Going first shouldnt be a big deal unless they find people are choosing the Bombers over the Jets which I dont recall being an issue.
yogi Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 Thursday games suck MOBomberFan, Blueandgold and Logan007 3
IC Khari Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 Three against the Riders is great! Weird that we start the first three all against Eastern teams though. Don't mind the Thursday games. Tues in Toronto is becoming the norm unfortunately
17to85 Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 God damn it! Can we start getting some ******* summer time games in Calgary so I might actually have a chance to go to them?
M.O.A.B. Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 schedule works for me! Not worrying where to watch the game when in US or lake on the summer weekends
TrueBlue Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 What will the August Riders/Bombers game be called?
IC Khari Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 What will the August Riders/Bombers game be called? Western Final preview? Hopefully not "Our Grey Cup" ...
Blueandgold Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 Not a fan of these Thursday home games myself. Kind of strange how our first three games are against the East even though we're back in the West.
Atomic Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 7 Thursday, August 7 WINNIPEG VS SASKATCHEWAN 7:30PM8 Tuesday, August 12 Winnipeg @ Toronto 6:30PM 5 day turnaround. Barely time for a practice. Hopefully the Thursday night time for the Saskatchewan game deters some of the dirty Rider fans from making the trip to Winnipeg.
Fred C Dobbs Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 Moe Khan@MoeKhan19·13 mins Big improvement for the @CFL to have 9 doubleheaders on Friday night. Last year was too little. #CFL Gonna have to watch my drinking on Fri nights (as well as the games on TV).
Brain Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 At first glance I thought it was a little odd to see so many Thursday home games, but it's a good way to avoid early season conflicts for cottagers. Makes life more difficult for those of us working on campus in the summer though.

Makes life more difficult for those of us working on campus in the summer though. Or those of us getting up at 5am for work the next day. Thursday home games are the bane of my existence as a season ticket holder. Blueandgold 1
Fred C Dobbs Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 Like the optimism: Paul Wiecek@PaulWiecek·2 mins "Our big concern is it's going to be a long layoff when we finish first." -Kyle Walters on his team having a bye in the final week #bn M.O.A.B. 1

Going first shouldnt be a big deal unless they find people are choosing the Bombers over the Jets which I dont recall being an issue. I think the Bombers would prefer to avoid the situation of having a Jets game on the same day unless the Bomber game was at noon and the Jets at 7 or something. It would be an absolute nightmare to get across the city if the games were at 2 and 6 or something like that, basically people would have to choose, and I think people spending hundreds per game on the Jets are more likely to do that, meaning they wouldn't go to the Bomber game at all or leave very early. It worked out great going from the old stadium after that Als game and heading to Jets/Canes, that was a great day.
