17to85 Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 I didn't see any problems in Suber's game when he lines up with, oh , say Jamel Richardson, a bigger, stronger receiver, who absolutely would get frustrated facing Suber. And this right there is why people shouldn't worry about his size. Richardson is one of the biggest guys out there and Suber has a history of frustrating the hell out of him. He'll always be at a disadvantage when it comes to jump balls on taller receivers but thus far it hasn't been much of an issue. Suber knows his strengths and weaknesses as a player and stays within himself and it works. He's not flashy but he is a damned good defensive back.
pigseye Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 Richardson's best days were behind him 3 years ago.
Atomic Posted March 1, 2014 Report Posted March 1, 2014 Richardson's best days were behind him 3 years ago. His best days were behind him in 2011 when he put up over 1700 yards? Interesting.
pigseye Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 That's about right, and JJ was the DMOP in 2011......it's always about what have you done for me lately and getting better every year instead of standing still.
Brandon Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 So Suber was doing these kinds of things in 2011 with his same height, I don't get what the point is?
Logan007 Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 So Suber was doing these kinds of things in 2011 with his same height, I don't get what the point is? Just to answer your question. Someone here is being one of these:
Logan007 Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 That 1 year doesn't prove fa. Name Year Team No. Yards Avg Long TD DRESSLER, W 2008 SSK 56 1,123 20.1 67 6 DRESSLER, W 2009 SSK 62 941 15.2 52 4 DRESSLER, W 2010 SSK 81 1,189 14.7 77 6 DRESSLER, W 2011 SSK 79 1,061 13.4 75 5 DRESSLER, W 2012 SSK 94 1,206 12.8 78 13 DRESSLER, W 2013 SSK 70 1,011 14.4 45 9 RICHARDSON, J 2008 MTL 98 1,287 13.1 81 16 RICHARDSON, J 2009 MTL 85 1,055 12.4 63 9 RICHARDSON, J 2010 MTL 97 1,271 13.1 61 7 RICHARDSON, J 2011 MTL 112 1,777 15.9 59 11 RICHARDSON, J 2012 MTL 62 1,011 16.3 75 5 RICHARDSON, J 2013 MTL 18 197 10.9 21 0 Just comparing someone who's going to the NFL with Richardson. Yeah, Richardson really sucks. I mean...look at 2013. The guy didn't play while injured...pfff...what a loser. He's a terrible receiver.
Onyenegecha Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 5'10" is about the minimum for the position. Physically, there should be little difference between players at this level, so giving away 2 inches is a big deal. Suber has proven to be a good tackler but id' rather not have to rely on him chasing down bigger stronger receivers all game. A player who is 5'10" and is as fast as, as physical as, and can cover as well as Suber doesn't start for the Bombers - he's in the NFL. Be realistic about what you want from your CFL secondary. If Suber was 3 inches taller he'd be Brandon Browner.

pigseye Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Hefney's gone, Johnsons gone, Stewart is gone, might as well keep it going and clean the slate including Cauchy and Suber. btw, I was referring to Subers 1 good year.
