gbill2004 Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 From today's Winnipeg Sun. Gotta love his attitude. Earlier this off-season, head coach Mike O'Shea gave new quarterback Drew Willy a vote of confidence, naming him the Winnipeg Blue Bombers' starter.Yet the prospect of disgruntled Hamilton veteran Kevin Glenn joining the Bombers remains a possibility.Willy, in town to drum up some publicity, says it wouldn't shock him if it happens."I'll be ready to compete against anyone," Willy told the Winnipeg Sun, today. "If something like that did happen, I'd just do everything else I've done in my career -- just compete and go about my business. Just try to win a spot."I've learned in pro football things can change quickly."
gbill2004 Posted March 21, 2014 Author Report Posted March 21, 2014 Hamilton veteran? The article is written by Paul Friesen, so errors like that are expected.
IC Khari Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 Hamilton veteran? The article is written by Paul Friesen, so errors like that are expected. The guy also works for the Sun so errors like that are required ...
iso_55 Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 Hamilton veteran? The article is written by Paul Friesen, so errors like that are expected. The guy also works for the Sun so errors like that are required ... That's bad. Wow, for a sportswriter in Winnipeg supposedly covering the CFL, that is inexcusable.
yogi Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 What else would he say? He throws in the towel?
Armchair GM Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 LOL... Friesen's such a d-bag. Basically baiting Willy into reacting how Glenn himself reacted, just to get a headline. bearpants 1
rebusrankin Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 Anybody pointed it out to Friesen that Glenn is not a Hamilton vet?
M.O.A.B. Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 Anybody pointed it out to Friesen that Glenn is not a Hamilton vet? I'm sure he can spin it... dont waste time on it.
gbill2004 Posted March 21, 2014 Author Report Posted March 21, 2014 Anybody pointed it out to Friesen that Glenn is not a Hamilton vet? I would but he blocked me on twitter.
kelownabomberfan Posted March 22, 2014 Report Posted March 22, 2014 Anybody pointed it out to Friesen that Glenn is not a Hamilton vet? Glenn did play for Hamilton at one time, so wouldn't that make him a vet of Hamilton? I'm not defending Friesen here at all, just curious what the protocol is. I realize that his last team technically is Ottawa, but he never played there, so would he really be considered, at this point, just a Calgary vet?
Brandon Posted March 23, 2014 Report Posted March 23, 2014 Does he live in Hamilton during the off season?
IC Khari Posted March 23, 2014 Report Posted March 23, 2014 Why would anyone want to remember Hamilton?
iso_55 Posted March 23, 2014 Report Posted March 23, 2014 It should be Ottawa, not Hamilton.... Or list the teams he's played with. Not just Hamilton. What a shoddy piece of journalism.
ALuCsRED Posted March 23, 2014 Report Posted March 23, 2014 It's probably Hamilton as that was the last team that he was with where he was the designated the starter. He only played all the games in Calgary because of Tate's numerous injuries.
Samcanadian Posted March 24, 2014 Report Posted March 24, 2014 Glenn's played in like...5 different cities. An error like this isn't as egregious as we are considering it to be. Three seasons in Saskatchewan Five Seasons in Winnipeg Three Seasons in Hamilton Two Seasons in Calgary What would be the proper team to lump him in with?
Bomber_fanaddict Posted March 24, 2014 Report Posted March 24, 2014 Normally i would say Glen would be the vet QB in Ottawa but since he has yet to play for them and may not still I probably would have said the vet QB from Calgary.
Jpan85 Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 The more I see interviews with Drew Willy he is reminding me more and more of Matt Saracen from Friday Night Lights.
SPuDS Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 The more I see interviews with Drew Willy he is reminding me more and more of Matt Saracen from Friday Night Lights. Not sure if good or not... (Never saw an episode of the show)
Logan007 Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 The more I see interviews with Drew Willy he is reminding me more and more of Matt Saracen from Friday Night Lights. THAT'S WHAT I SAID BEFORE!!! Isn't it crazy how much they are alike? Well I said he looks like him, but I find even his mannerisms are similar. Show was really good.
