How could anyone vote for the socialist Judy W after what we have gone through in our province.

Possibly the worst premier Manitoba has ever had.

Sellinger is indeed the worst piece of human vermin ever to grace the premier's office in Manitoba. Followed closely by Garry Filmon, Sir Rodmund Roblin & Howard Pawley. He's currently piecing together his exit plan and will not run in the next election. That big huge stork lady Teresa Oswald will be confronting Andrew Swan and Hunchback Howard for the NDP leadership fairly soon.

Think it's time this one gets locked up eh?

Turned totally into a political debate, i get that politics played a role in this whole topic but it has seemingly become all about politics now.

And in no way related to the original topic, just some food for thought, don't care if it is locked or not, just think well, that last post there is definitely pushing a slippery slope here.

I mean, i may not be a fan of these guys either but theres got to be a line here somewhere.

Roblin brought us Duff's Ditch & Winnipeggers should be thanking him every spring. I think he was a very good Premier. Now, Walter Weir, the ex Highways Minister who replaced him& called a snap election in 69 because the NDP had just elected Ed Schreyer as leader & he thought was going to catch them flat footed. Weir was a hapless moron.

What can he do when the City said no?

the city said no to their own plan! Wades original plan was countered by the city with what they just turned down because they're lunatics. So wade is going back to his original plan, according to what I've read...

What can he do when the City said no?

Likely contract directly with school bus companies to run the park and ride. Transit was basically a middle man last year.

There were a lot of Winnipeg Transit buses used too.  They didn't just charter private buses for the Bombers.  They'll never be able to provide the volume of service they did in 2013 without Transit being involved.  It will be more like the first pre-season game before they brought in far more buses.

I know we discussed this before but the golf course needs to be made into a parking lot. There needs to be more parking available on site. Is it tough to get in & out of IGF? Probably no worse than getting out of Canad Inns onto St James Street or Ellice Avenue. Of course, I've heard that the U of M has some kind of grandiose development plan for the golf course that may never get off the ground. Better hope there's not another fiasco with traffic.

UP, better be careful. Some of the things you're saying about Katz may be considered libelous. Just because you post under a pseudonym doesn't mean you can't be identified. It's your choice to say what you want but man, I'd be very cautious. Your choice.

What?  I just mean hes a known liar.  He publicly flip flopped on putting the Goldeyes into a blind trust.  Thus he lied.  Thats all i meant.  Right? ;-)

Just sayin', man. 17to85 feels anyone  on the internet can say what they want about anyone with impunity. I happen to think there's a line & if it's crossed could be trouble. Not saying you did cross the line but why take the risk? Maybe because I was threatened once with a lawsuit about 10 years ago. Not worth the worry or hassle.

A very good point.  A few months ago Brian Burke was taking a  couple of posters on some Maple Leafs site to court for libel when they claimed he had an affair with a well-known media personality in Toronto.

Filmon was OK.  I wouldn't rank him with those others as one of the worst premiers of the province.  He balanced the budget on a consistent basis in the face of declining federal tranfers in the 90s - his biggest strength.  Wasn't much of a visionary though.

That Roblin guy was a piece of work though.  I'd say he was the worst premier ever just based on one incident alone.  I think he and and a few others committed fraud with regards to contract arrangements during the construction of the legislative building.  Think it worked out to $500,000 or 1 million at the time which doesn't sound like much, but would be tens of millions of dollars today, maybe even more than $100 million.  So as impressive as the legislature is, there were several things cut from the design due to the corruption of the Conservative government of the time.

Strange thing is, I had no idea about this until I read the Hermetic Code (great book by the way) and I suspect many Manitobans know little about it as well.

Nate is talking about Duff's grandfather though.  He was premier from 1900 - 1915.

Filmon had to clean up the mess he inherited. And do so with drastically reduced transfer payments. When today's NDP still blames filmon for everything while cashing massive transfer payment cheques and collecting huge taxes it will is disturbing.

If I recall, the school busses used last season were to augment the fleet of transit busses. Ie. when they ran out of transit busses they used school busses. I can't imagine they can handle the load this year with just school busses.

Hopefully they are working on almost bing with transit behind the scenes that Napoleon Katz can agree to.

It's way worse than the old stadium.  Not even comparable.  Every vehicle on campus has to enter or exit through 2 intersections.  Can only be worse with fewer people able to use Transit.

Welllll not really. It doesn't matter if there was twenty points of entry. There is only so much available parking on campus. I found things to be very easy after the first couple of games.

There was still delays leaving but that's to be expected with that many people. If I parked close to the old stadium I expected to sit in traffic on the way out. And I ways sat in traffic on my way there
