TBieber Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 Something triggered this if they take Lavertu. Perhaps Federkeil is retiring too. Bryant - Peach - Jones/Lav - Lav/Jones - Wilson Edit: They also have Craighead... Five Canadians... Bryant going somewhere?
Jpan85 Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 Calgary still has the 7th pick to. Wonder if they keep it?
Goalie Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 desjardins is really really stupid. What a dumb move, i'd get it if they got calgarys first round pick but not even? wow, just wow really. It's not a huge move, if this is the type of offer walters gets for 2, id keep it.
pigseye Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 The league should void this trade and have Marcel committed immediately.
Mike Posted May 13, 2014 Author Report Posted May 13, 2014 I'm going on record and predicting Calgary moved up to leapfrog Montreal. I think it's for Pruneau.
Atomic Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 "Hi Marcel, my name is John Hufnagel. Could I just get you to bend over that barrel right there? Thanks. Here I come!"
Atomic Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 I'm going on record and predicting Calgary moved up to leapfrog Montreal. I think it's for Pruneau. I could see that. Calgary needs a safety.
gbill2004 Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 I'm going on record and predicting Calgary moved up to leapfrog Montreal. I think it's for Pruneau. I really really hope you are right.
TBieber Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 I'm going on record and predicting Calgary moved up to leapfrog Montreal. I think it's for Pruneau. Great move if it is. They have Hecht/MacDougall right now, and I'm not sure either is capable.
Goalie Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 I'm going on record and predicting Calgary moved up to leapfrog Montreal. I think it's for Pruneau. i'll agree with this also. I just don't see calgary needing lavertu.
Atomic Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 There's no question that Jon Gott would be a better Centre RIGHT NOW for Ottawa. From that perspective, the move makes sense. They use a pick to get their starting centre, and probably a better one than they would have if they kept the pick. The question is, how long will Gott be there, and will he be better than Lavertu long-term?
Jpan85 Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 Got to like what Calgary did want a guy move to the place you 100% you are going to get him.
IC Khari Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 The league should void this trade and have Marcel committed immediately. I thought he was, he's in Ottawa
gbill2004 Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 @PentonKirk: #bombers likely get Lavertu at No. 2 now.

Like I said on Twitter I don't think 1 was the goal, I think they dealt to get ahead of Montreal AND BC, which they did. Why would they deal a guard to draft a center to move their center to guard?

Jpan85 Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 Plus if they need Hage in a pinch for the stretch run would be an excellent option.

Means Bombers likely had shot at Gott for our number 2 pick under your scenario.

Jpan85 Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 Wonder what BC and Montreal were offering for the second or first pick
Atomic Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 Plus if they need Hage in a pinch for the stretch run would be an excellent option.Hage is retired. Not officially, he never signed the papers.
Jpan85 Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 He can say that now. But if the Stamps are rolling and need help I am sure he would think about it.
Blueandgold Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 I'd bet that Hage chooses play to this season. He just didn't have any interest in playing for Ottawa.
Goalie Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 i thought prior to being selected by ottawa, that the rumor was hage would rather retire than play for the redblacks. them trading him kind of confirms this thought. Thought i heard this a few times prior to the expansion draft.
TBieber Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 Hage knows all about Desjardins... they were in Hamilton together, and I wouldn't be surprised if he had rubbed him the wrong way at one point or another.
