StevetheClub Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 Gordon and Stoddard...was just ridiculous how good they were. Still *tried* to get Simon back, but it didn't work out... stoddard... The best adequate canadian receiever ever! hands of glue no doubt but otherwise...? Haha yeah, I was thinking the same thing. A reliable receiver no doubt, but I'd say there's just a slight drop off from Gordon to Stoddard.
JuranBoldenRules Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 That depth chart is directly from the Bombers? Interesting that they are looking at Swiston as a tackle and Pencer as a guard. Also interesting that we have 3 interior guys who are imports. Import centre looks like a strong possibility, but how the OL comes together is all going to depend on how confident they are in Neufeld at tackle. Looks like we're rolling with one conventional LB and a whole lot of DB's most of the time. Scary that we only have one long-snapper, and he's in his first pro camp, I suppose we could do some maneuvering to get someone else if he struggles.
Goalie Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 I think anderson will make the team, pretty sure they will start a non import field corner and go 4 oline I don't put too much stock in the depth chart in May.... guys like Ian Wild and Zach Anderson are too good to be back-ups.... I think the one thing that sticks out to me is Neufeld at RT, I think that's where he'll be day one.... I'm very surprised they don't have Anderson locked in beside Turner. Only reason I'm nervous about zach is because they're letting Etch have so much control over the personnel on defence. Not sure why Etch wouldn't like Anderson though, he's got a crazy motor, and he's as fast as a LB'er! He can fly to the ball and is ridiculously athletic for his position just saying but shouldn't the defensive coordinator have control over the personnel on defence? if not the DC, then who? Not sure why everyone is so worried about anderson, he's a good player and will make the team. If he doesn't, it just means he got beat out by someone better. I doubt that happens tho as zach seems very motivated and definitely will make an impression. I think he's safe, just think maybe basing things on a depth chart which probably means very little right now is a little extreme. Only reason I'm a little bit worried is because of who the DC is Well, the DC likes good players who hustle and never quit so i dont see why he wouldn't like anderson. Anderson is exactly what etch wants in a player, he can play multiple positions on the dline, can play defensive tackle and defensive end... IMO, anderson is the definition of a player that ETCH would want.

Fitzgerald can do it as well.

True, I think we want a specialist though. Wild would be good in a pinch.
Brandon Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 Bring back Guebert as our specialist long snapper lol!

Probably no coincidence that it is the same guy who was long-snapping for Hajrullahu at Western.

Floyd Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 Not thrilled with the Lucas and Dunn placements so far but depth charts have a way of changing...
Mike Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 What I like is that it doesn't seem to be a question of Neufeld being ready for RT, it seems to be a question of Goossen being ready at center. If Goossen is ready, it'll roll changes throughout the entire depth chart. Suddenly there wouldn't be a need for Ryan Lucas at DT and Zach Anderson can retake ownership of that spot.
M.O.A.B. Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 any camps updates specifically re: (1) the MLB, (2) the WIL and (3) the KR spots
rebusrankin Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 With Lucas as a starting DT, that's essentially a way of putting the 7th NI spot as a rotation correct. As in Lucas starts but Newman may come in to play lb or safety or Briggs at lb or Bucknor at field corner and Alexander moving to safety.
Blueandgold Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 I don't like any scenario in which Ian Wild is taken off of the field. rebusrankin 1
JuranBoldenRules Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 I feel like they are basically ready to cut Swiston, although he might stick around just because we have so few NI OL.

James Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 It bothers me that he doesn't respect the run enough to at least have a decent sized DL. If Kuale gets injured we'll have a 207 pound MLB with 2 DB's on either side of him, and a Strong Safety off the edge who will probably struggle to get the OT's hands off him when he inevitably engages. I forsee a lot of Power I's against us. Cornish and Messam are going to kill us...

SPuDS Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 Its hilarious we are 1 freaking day into training camp and are already panicking about our d-line size and run stopling ability.. I mean, come on..maaaaaaaaaaaybe if after both preseason games we have been ran on for 400 yards then we can panic. Until then, lets let the coaches n GM put the roster together.. Goalie 1
Goalie Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 Who has our best tackler arguably been the last few seasons, i'd argue that it was the smallest guy on the field, alex suber. So yeah size really doesn't matter as much as some are making it out to be. And prior to him, could argue it was that gigantic 5'9 maybe monster in jonathan hefney. Size doesn't mean much really.
