The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have added non-import defensive linemen Aaron Crawford and Mathieu Boulay as well as import linebacker Shelly Lyons to their practice roster.

Boulay (6-2, 250, Bishop’s, DOB: November 23, 1987 in Montréal, Québec) attended training camp with the Montreal Alouettes earlier this season after being a final cut of the Saskatchewan Roughriders last season.  Boulay was a member of the Roughriders’ practice roster in 2011 and appeared in 10 games that season, registering one tackle and one forced fumble.  He spent four seasons at Bishop’s where he dressed in every game as a senior and registered 45 tackles and eight sacks on his way to being named his team’s Lineman of the Year.

Crawford (6-4, 250, Saint Mary’s, DOB: September 23, 1986 in Medicine Hat, Alberta) was drafted by the Toronto Argonauts in the sixth round (40th overall) in 2012 but was released following training camp after making the move to fullback during the preseason.  He joined the Saskatchewan Roughriders’ practice roster in October and attended training camp with the team earlier this season.  At Saint Mary’s, Crawford finished his senior season with 33 tackles and two fumble recoveries.

Lyons (6-2, 225, Arizona State, DOB: January 19, 1990 in Corona, California) played in 43 games over four seasons with the Sun Devils – including 12 starts – and recorded 126 along with one sack and two interceptions.  He signed with the Miami Dolphins last season as an undrafted free agent and recorded six tackles during the preseason before being among the team’s final cuts.
