Can't wait. Always felt a certain amount of anxiety over the way it finished. It needed a fourth season but we were robbed of that. Now, although set into the future, we'll get some closure.

Al Swearengen may be my favourite TV character of all time. Ian McShane has replaced Tim Curry for me as the "must watch" actor. There's not much I won't seek out when he's in it. Although, Tim Curry is still a must-watch.

There are many shows I’d love to check in with the characters every 5-10 years.   With all the re boots and revivals the ones I find most interesting are the ones that continue on.

Loved the show when it aired. This looks great.   If it does well maybe they’d make more.

okay seriously what is going on at netflix?

I'd assume they are massively overspending and now are cutting corners on anything that is not an instant success.

Okay no spoilers.  Do we need a GoT thread?   Heck of an episode.  Read alot of complaints about how dark it was on older TVs.

Great climax.

I don't know the final season is halfway done, but I guess a series finale spoilers thread should be okay

Enjoyed the GOT episode.  I guess my TV is new enough that the darkness wasn't an issue for me... didn't even realize it was a problem till I saw it trending on twitter.

For people who have not seen the episode yet, I'll put some other thoughts behind the spoiler feature

Spoiler

I was a bit surprised at how few characters died, given that they wrapped up some of their storylines the episode before.  I expected more front line guys (Tormund, GreyWorm, etc) to go down & the ones they kill off were fairly obvious and didn't really factor in to the main plot.  Others like Jaime & The Mountain I figured would survive because they still had other stuff still going on (Bronn coming for both Lannisters?, Mountain vs Hound battle).

They lost a ton of their army so it'll be interesting to see how they regroup for the march south.  They do still have both dragons (maybe not for long if you pay attention to the king's landing part of the intro though) so that should help but they pretty much lost all the Dothraki on the initial charge & the Unsullied seemed to get overrun as well.

They're trying to extend her contract, but to be fair I wouldn't be surprised if she does leave, mostly because the average amount of time a cast member usually spends on SNL is usually 7 seasons (hey I got bored one day and thought I should see if there's a mean, median, and mode within the people that have appeared on the show), and she's been on for seven and a half (she came on in late season 36, just as Kristin Wiig was on her way out, I think Kate's first episode was Sofia Vergara/One Direction

actually come to think of it this is Aidy Bryant and Cecily Strong's 7th season as well, well, we'll have to find out around the time the season finale airs in a couple of weeks

Isn't it a little soon? but then again I'm old enough to remember when you'd see a tv movie on one of the major cable networks at the drop of a hat
