I haven't watched it yet but if you're interested in diving deeper into this, you should check out Slava Malamud's episode by episode review/talk. He was a Russian hockey/sports writer based out of Buffalo (I think). He really dives deep into the show. https://twitter.com/SlavaMalamud Wideleft 1

Wanna-B-Fanboy Posted June 19, 2019 Report Posted June 19, 2019 Saw this the other night- it was good. Using the vast amount of footage, Antoine Fuqua was able to have Ali narrate his own documentary- giving quite a powerful angle to his life's story. It was executive produce by Lebron and narrated by Muhammad Ali. Here is a comprehensive review: https://variety.com/2019/film/reviews/whats-my-name-muhammad-ali-review-1203198673/ Quote Comprised of old photos and film, TV, and radio clips, Fuqua’s project (executive-produced by LeBron James) does its best to approximate an autobiographical authorship, allowing “the greatest” to be his own storyteller. That approach, along with a narrative focus that remains almost exclusively on his public career — don’t go looking for insights into his family life, for example — means that “What’s My Name” is relatively short on outsider perspectives and, thus, a larger analysis of Ali’s place in history. Fatty Liver Posted June 19, 2019 Report Posted June 19, 2019 (edited) Watched an excellent documentary on the Red Wings "The Russian Five" the other night, compliments another excellent documentary "Red Army" which came out in 2014. How I wish hockey would return to this style of play, it was so much more entertaining than the "talent not required" style they play now. Edited June 19, 2019 by Throw Long Bannatyne johnzo 1
iHeart Posted June 21, 2019 Report Posted June 21, 2019 netflix has dropped the final trailer for stranger things season 3
iHeart Posted June 23, 2019 Report Posted June 23, 2019 SO it seems that they're rebooting the New Scooby Doo movies, the trailer here shows an ish of a lineup (I'm sure it'll make it's way to Teletoon eventually it normally does) but who else was added that wasn't shown in the trailer https://tvline.com/2019/06/23/family-matters-revival-steve-urkel-jaleel-white-scooby-doo-photo/
iHeart Posted June 27, 2019 Report Posted June 27, 2019 well, has this ever happened before? a show that was on Netflix later ends up on regular tv after being cancelled? https://tvline.com/2019/06/27/one-day-at-a-time-season-4-renewed-pop-tv/ It's going to be on the US network that has been airing $chitt's Creek, but the show will get to air on regular CBS eventually
iHeart Posted July 1, 2019 Report Posted July 1, 2019 https://tvline.com/2019/07/01/divorce-cancelled-season-4-ending-hbo/ not because of ratings but they're making it sound like scheduling conflicts
