IC Khari Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 If you aren't old enough or haven't seen this game or others in this era, enjoy. I was at this game and it still brings back such found memories. It used to be so much fun being a fan of this team. I hope we are at the precipice of a new era similar to this with Willy and company! Harbaugh and Jaxon 2
iso_55 Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Don Wittman gone. Ron Lancaster gone. Cal Murphy gone. Jack Gotta gone. Ty Jones gone. Yeah, this was a great team. They should have had one, maybe two more Grey Cups. Tommy Clements was a superb qb. It was a fun team to watch for sure. I was at that game too. I had season tickets in Section V Row 29, Seats 12 & 13. Right on the 55 yard line.
ALuCsRED Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 See. Brian Williams can host the pre-game show.
iso_55 Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 There was a lot of fanfare when he came over to TSN a few years ago but they never really utilized his talents. He kind've just disappeared.
Bomber_fanaddict Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 They had colour tvs back then?!? Its pretty safe to say I don't remember that game. I was 4 at the time. Although there is a good chance I watched it as my dad was a Bomber fan and I do remember watching football games as a kid on TV. Oh those CBC graphics and commercials bring back the memories lol.
bryan35 Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Brings back memories of having season tickets in 1984. Those were some good teams back then.
iso_55 Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Had season tickets on the 55 yard line in Sec V from 1974 to 90 when I moved to Calgary. Never missed one single game in 17 seasons. That includes weddings & the birth of my oldest son.
Jaxon Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 I was at that game too. Sigh. Great team, great uniforms. We expected to win every game
Nasty Nate Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Had season tickets on the 55 yard line in Sec V from 1974 to 90 when I moved to Calgary. Never missed one single game in 17 seasons. That includes weddings & the birth of my oldest son. Wow. The 55, you really were a fan monster Al..... I'm impressed!
iso_55 Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Well, they were a fraction of what they cost now...
Nasty Nate Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Around 1969 I remember my 40 yd line tix cost about $6. Can't remember my first ticket prices around '65 but must have been around $4, maybe even $3.75. Can't even buy a jar of water for $3.75 these days. ha Kracklin Karpets (where the Red Lobster currently stands) used to give away bomber tickets for free just for comin' on down (and exposing yourself to a hard closer)
iso_55 Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 In 1974, it cost me $4.75 each per game for my 2 season tickets. So, 2 tickets for under $100 to sit on the 55 yard line. MY dad thought I was crazy to pay that kind of money. I was in gr 12 & I got a job in a restaurant washing dishes to buy those season tickets.
