Jpan85 Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 Would Ottawa have first crack at some of these PR players. Or is it first team to put a claim in?
M.O.A.B. Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 According to Drew Edwards (scratching post) Still no word on the Ticats cuts... and there may not be until tomorrow. Argos haven't announced their cuts yet.
JuranBoldenRules Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 Hinse and Hartmann cut? Give me either one. I'd buy three tickets to Winnipeg from Edmonton, for Hartmann, Alexandre and Dadzie. Don't understand why Edmonton would cut 3 of their 5 2014 picks (Hartmann, Dadzie and Medeiros), they aren't exactly flush with Canadians. Morin-Plante from Calgary wouldn't be a bad pickup either, and I'd look hard at plucking Billy Peach. Hinse and Hartmann cut? Give me either one. How 'bout both of them? Wait Hartmann is a draftee by Esks, is it possible he's returning back to school? Possible, although I'm not sure where he'd return to, he hasn't played CIS in awhile. Can still claim him off waivers.
Captain Blue Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 Please, I'm begging you Walters, sign some of these Canadians.
gbill2004 Posted June 22, 2014 Author Report Posted June 22, 2014 @scratchingpost: #Ticats have released DB Evan McCollough.
GCn20 Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 Would Ottawa have first crack at some of these PR players. Or is it first team to put a claim in? No, there is no order to who can claim someone off someone else's PR. First man up to claim him. Of course, all Calgary would do is activate him and that ends that. The smarter play might be to try and trade for him. It is obvious that Calgary will have a very hard time holding onto him over the long term.
Jpan85 Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 Player can also reject going to the claiming team and stay on PR too right?
Mr Dee Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 We should definitely pluck Peach, and not just for the matching set. It would be a gentle reminder that we are back in business and it's payback for sniping Stubler.
JuranBoldenRules Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 Would Ottawa have first crack at some of these PR players. Or is it first team to put a claim in? I don't think there is any waiver priority involved. You can't simply claim players off practice rosters either, you can offer them an active roster spot and if they accept, their current team can match that offer to keep the player and place them on the active roster, or let the player walk.

Yeah now thats what I remember. Thanks.
Mike Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 Player can also reject going to the claiming team and stay on PR too right? Yep. If you're a guy like Peach though, you'd be stupid to stay if you have any plans on starting in this league.
gbill2004 Posted June 22, 2014 Author Report Posted June 22, 2014 I like the trade idea for Peach. Offer up a 3rd or 4th rounder.

Mike Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 I like the trade idea for Peach. Offer up a 3rd or 4th rounder. I certainly wouldn't start with that. You hold all the leverage Blue-urns and AKAChip 2

You hold all the leverage Agreed. Be the first to make the claim. If Huff wants to then put him on the roster, then offer the trade. Also helps maintain good relationships by doing the trade. No one like other teams messing with their PRs.
Mike Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 Obviously they haven't announced their PR but that's a lot of talent to look at. BRING BACK JADE MinisterOfD5 1

Mr Dee Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 I can't seem to get a hold of Walters . His line is busy.
Blueandgold Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 Some good players were cut. I wonder if we give Richardson a look? Although we do need an outside guy more. Still, I'm not sure that keeping Chad Johnson over him was a good move despite Richardson's recent injury problems. I'd definitely bring back Etienne as a backup receiver considering how desperately we need one. Hugh Charles being released surprises me as well although admittedly I haven't paid much attention to the other running backs the Esks have brought in.
Jpan85 Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 CFL Official Feed @CFL 2m MORE CUTS: The @Ticats have released Evan McCollough. #CFL
JuranBoldenRules Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 Jade, Anthony, Bastien. All better than who we have as depth outside of our active roster at receiver (literally nobody). We can basically add a handful of mid-round 2014 picks if we want to.
Mike Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 I'd take a look at Travis Bent too. He's somebody I'd prefer to have over Stephan. James 1
JuranBoldenRules Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 I'd take a look at Travis Bent too. He's somebody I'd prefer to have over Stephan. Regimbald and Webster too. Webster has CFL safety written all over him, but probably heading back to Queen's, offer him a PR spot and see if he takes it. Riders might have already.
