Tracker Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 I have no problem with these cuts... Hoping to see Peach and Vega as the DEs come game one I was perturbed about the Nzegwu release when it happened... I was really hoping he'd be the next import pass rusher to dominate in the phill hunt/Alex hall level Something we have not had emerge this year is a pass rusher who engages two opposing linemen, and we are going to miss that- badly. I think you'll see Turner and Anderson getting a fair amount of double teams, but there's no such thing as a DL who takes up 2 gaps at the CFL level. I'm pretty sure Doug Brown got double-teamed most plays when he was in his prime.
bearpants Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 back to the kicker conversation... Calgary currently has Peredes, Maver, and the rookie Tyler Crapinga.... Sask currently has Bartel, Milo, and the rookie Johnny Mark..... Chances are both rookies will be on the PR unless they get hidden by "injuries".... potential kicker thievery here?
kelownabomberfan Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 back to the kicker conversation... Calgary currently has Peredes, Maver, and the rookie Tyler Crapinga.... I hope he names his first kid "Craphonso"... johnzo 1
sweep the leg Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 I guess another way of putting it is this, the gap from Goosen/Morely to Morely/Knapp isn't nearly as big as the gap from Thomas to Anderson IMO. A weak link on the OL is a significantly bigger problem than one on the dl. Atomic 1

A weak link on the OL is a significantly bigger problem than one on the dl. and quite frankly based on preseason I think the offense will be doing more to keep us in games this year than the D anyway. I know that's a strange thought for bomber fans to wrap their heads around but it might be true...
Jpan85 Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 I would like to thank the Winnipeg Football Club for giving me four unforgettable years of football. Before being part of this team I thought of football as simply a sport, a game. Winnipeg has showed me that it is much more than that. Football, in this city, is not just a game. It is a unifying factor that brings communities together driven by hard work and passion. The passion shown by the athletes on the field is reflected tenfold by the fans and support we get off the field. I am humbled immensely by the love and support the city of Winnipeg has for its Bombers…our Bombers. During my time with the team I have been blessed with experiences I would have never thought possible. I have met some of the most incredible people, with whom I have shared unforgettable moments. This city, club and people I have met shall forever hold a place in my heart that can never be replaced. Thank you again, Winnipeg. Chris Kowalczuk #67 Always a Bomber This was from Kowalczuk facebook page. Pretty classy way to handle it hopefully he sticks around Winnipeg. blitzmore, M.O.A.B., Dascow and 7 others 10

Good to hear that there still are classy athletes out there. Good on you, Chris and thanks for your kind words.
James Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 Boooo towards Thomas over Anderson...Canadian vs import.Crappy vs exceptional.Start a Canadian somewhere else. where? CFL rosters are always built by slotting in your top canadians then filling imports around them and given the injuries we've had Thomas is one of the best we have.I personally think we would be better off with 6 on offence and one at field corneragain, where? 3 receivers? So that if we have a guy get hurt we're using the scrapings of the league to field enough guys? On the OL so our qbs can get hammered game in and game out again and god help them if there is an injury there? RB? We don't have a good enough RB to do that.... We could simply go 4 NI OL, and if there was an injury, then we could go 3 NI receivers. None of the import receivers really stood out anyway. \If there is to many injuries to OL and receivers we could then go back to rotating 2 on defence. I used to be a huge Morely basher, but he's fairly adequate at RG. I noticed a huge difference last season when he came back from injury in the OL play. I just think Anderson Getting the majority of snaps beside Turner could be really special. They could really form a good cohesion and dominate OL's together all year. I guess another way of putting it is this, the gap from Goosen/Morely to Morely/Knapp isn't nearly as big as the gap from Thomas to Anderson IMO. If Goosen truly isn't Ready, JFG looks pretty darn good at rec. and Renaud and Carter would be adequate depth for the first while until Goosen is ready. I suspect they will start the season with Morely at Center and Thomas at Tackle, but I also don't suspect it will last very long. Good post. I like your logic here. Thanks!
sweep the leg Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 Wasn't sure where to put this, but I heard MOS say on H & L yesterday that he thinks Maher will be signed by the Redblacks. I'm happy for him, if true. I felt bad for him missing his kid's birth to play, then getting cut a few days later.
