Rich Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 Saw these tweets and found this to be an interesting development in terms of how teams would stash players on the IR. #CFL changes will make it harder to stash guys on IR. Players on new 6-game IR won't be able to practise until 2 weeks from return date. — Scott Mitchell (@SUNMitchell) June 18, 2014 Previously, players could practise the whole time. New model is very similar to NFL PUP list. #CFL — Scott Mitchell (@SUNMitchell) June 18, 2014 I'm a fan of this. Use the IR how it was intended, not to hide players. voodoochylde 1
17to85 Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 the IR was one of the only ways to protect your draft picks who weren't quite ready to play yet though.... I think the CFL really does need to come up with some way to let teams retain players rights.
