IC Khari Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000360521/article/israel-idonije-released-by-chicago-bears He's 33 and may still get on with another NFL club but at his age maybe not. Would be interesting to see him give the CFL a year or so but I doubt he does that.
Brandon Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 *If* for some reason he was to play in the CFL I'm sure he would only play for the Blue. But I see him getting signed somewhere else as depth
Guest Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 At 33, I don't see him coming up here, if anything he'll probably waste another year looking for work down South.
Floyd Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 I was waiting for the annual Idonije thread... 33... he's made his money, doubt he would play for $180-200k... Now, I could see him as an OL coach in Wpg... someday.

bearpants Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 Multiple media reported he says he will retire once he is done in the NFL... but hey, who knows, maybe he'll take one crack with the blue and gold
mbrg Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 I expect he would plunge deeply into the charitible associations he is already involved with once he retires. He is very passionate about them Would he put them off for a year or two just to play in the CFL? Only if he is still having fun playing football, doesn't want to quit, and has no NFL takers. And even that doesn't get him in a Bomber jersey. Pretty remote chance.
ediger Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 in the short term, I could see him as a guest coach during TC if he doesn't sign with another NFL team, but that's about it.
IC Khari Posted June 21, 2014 Author Report Posted June 21, 2014 It's awesome to think what it would have like to have him play for the blue as a "national" in his prime ...
