johnzo Posted June 28, 2014 Author Report Posted June 28, 2014 Wow. That's the worst non-turnover punt return I've seen in awhile ... and an illegal block to boot. Calgary's playing down to Montreal's level.
Bomber_fanaddict Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 Montreal the Bombers of 2013? Calgary also not looking very good.
KptKrunch Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 Nice (not really) clothesline on Cornish - this could get ugly
JuranBoldenRules Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 A flying right hook. Should be an ejection if the back judge was watching.
AKAChip Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 That was a dirty hit but many worse hits have been not called disqualification. Literally the only reason that's a DQ is because it was Cornish. Blueandgold 1
do or die Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 Cheap shot, alright.....just forearmed Cornish right upside the head......
KptKrunch Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 That was a dirty hit but many worse hits have been not called disqualification. Literally the only reason that's a DQ is because it was Cornish. maybe but don't forget not only is Cornish a star he's Canadian. There are so few 'star' Canadian players. I don't like seeing anyone getting hurt unnecessarily. That was just a cheap shot by a classless player.
JuranBoldenRules Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 That was a dirty hit but many worse hits have been not called disqualification. Literally the only reason that's a DQ is because it was Cornish. They can't judge intent, but that's as intentional as it gets. Cornish will be lucky if his jaw isn't broken.
Mark H. Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 That was a dirty hit but many worse hits have been not called disqualification. Literally the only reason that's a DQ is because it was Cornish. "Literally" means you're 100% sure about that...I'm not. johnzo and SPuDS 2
Rich Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 Cornish walking off the field, didn't need the ambulence.
AKAChip Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 I don't want to see him get hurt. I'm just pointing out that it's a double standard.
KptKrunch Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 I still stand by my pre-season prediction that Troy Smith will be out by Labour Day but he may be out sooner than Hawkins was if this keeps up. One Point with THAT receiving corps? Really?
AKAChip Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 To be fair, they really only have two above average receivers. Granted, Carter and Green are studs, but without London playing the rest are scrubs.
Blueandgold Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 To be fair, they really only have two above average receivers. Granted, Carter and Green are studs, but without London playing the rest are scrubs. The receivers have nothing to do with horribly overthrown balls.
James Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 Troy Smith = Michael Bishop. I think michael bishop would be an upgrade for them at this point
Jacquie Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 I wouldn't even call that a horsecollar tackle. The things the refs consider horsecollar in this league are pretty questionable.According to the rules it was the proper call.Tackling an opponent by grabbing the inside collar of the side or back of the shoulder pads, or jersey It's a crappy penalty and the NFL does it right. The wording of the NFL rule is pretty much the same as the CFL rule except it's more long winded. Horse-Collar Tackle. No player shall grab the inside collar of the back or the side of the shoulder pads or jersey pads or jersey, and pull the runner toward the ground. This does not apply to a runner who is in the tackle box or to a quarterback who is in the pocket. Note: It is not necessary for a player to pull the runner completely to the ground in order for the act to be illegal. If his knees are buckled by the action, it is a foul, even if the runner is not pulled completely to the ground. That may be true, but the way it is enforced is quite different just based on observations. Probably due to inferior officiating. Yeah, NFL officiating sucks.
johnzo Posted June 28, 2014 Author Report Posted June 28, 2014 Smith makes me think of Charlie "Wild Thing" Sheen from Major League. "We better teach this kid some control before he kills someone." KptKrunch 1
kelownabomberfan Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 If the Als get desperate enough, Marve for a high draft pick and Josh Bourke?
KptKrunch Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 If the Als get desperate enough, Marve for a high draft pick and Josh Bourke? No, give them Brohm - I like Marve
