gbill2004 Posted June 30, 2014 Report Posted June 30, 2014 After this weekends games, it appears that the Lions and Ticats desperately need some OL help. We have some potentially attractive pieces in January, Jones and Howard. Thoughts on whether we could swing a deal with the Lions/Ticats, perhaps for a Canadian DL?
Atomic Posted June 30, 2014 Report Posted June 30, 2014 Neither Jones nor Howard have really proven enough to warrant a trade, especially for a Canadian, IMO. It would also appear that the Ticats and Lions have more problems on the interior of their OL, rather than the tackles. Also, Jones is on the PR so if another team really wanted him they could probably just try to steal him away. As far as January goes, no chance I would trade him now when it finally appears we have a little stability on the OL. sweep the leg and Jaxon 2
Mike Posted June 30, 2014 Report Posted June 30, 2014 Jones and Howard aren't exactly established enough to bring anything in a trade, especially with one of them on the PR. I'm not trading January after the game our OL had either.
IC Khari Posted June 30, 2014 Report Posted June 30, 2014 We've been in this position (lack of depth or general weakness on the oline) like the Ticats and Lions appear to be now. They never helped us, let em suffer
Stickem Posted June 30, 2014 Report Posted June 30, 2014 We shouldn't be tinkering with the o line period. We're just getting off the ground ourselves, why would we want to better another team in that dept. Let them swing in the wind like we had to and go find some help. Good luck to them.
Brandon Posted June 30, 2014 Report Posted June 30, 2014 We should trade Korey Banks to BC for Poblah! kelownabomberfan and KptKrunch 2
kelownabomberfan Posted June 30, 2014 Report Posted June 30, 2014 We should trade Korey Banks to BC for Poblah! Wally would never be that dumb.
rebusrankin Posted June 30, 2014 Report Posted June 30, 2014 I don't want to trade any OL right now. If a team needs a running back though...
do or die Posted June 30, 2014 Report Posted June 30, 2014 We have some "perceived depth" on the OL, and better coaching/teaching on staff - but it is still a work in progress. We don't have enough proven (so far) assets to start dealing any OL, yet.....
robynjt Posted June 30, 2014 Report Posted June 30, 2014 Really, we have ONE good game at OL and you want to trade it away? Are you ******* kidding me?! blitzmore and DR. CFL 2
gbill2004 Posted June 30, 2014 Author Report Posted June 30, 2014 Really, we have ONE good game at OL and you want to trade it away? Are you ******* kidding me?! Well, that's actually smart trading...look where your opponent has a weakness, where you have a weakness, and look to trade your depth for another teams depth. That's how win-win trades get done. But I'm really not sure what the market would be like for guys like Howard and Jones.
kelownabomberfan Posted June 30, 2014 Report Posted June 30, 2014 Swiston for their 1rst round pick in 2015!! plus Bighill.
Tracker Posted June 30, 2014 Report Posted June 30, 2014 This is all funny- a couple of weeks ago, we were speculating that the desperate Bombers would be scouring the other teams. (mostly Hamilton, Calgary and Edmonton) for NI talent. Now we're sellers?

Tracker Posted June 30, 2014 Report Posted June 30, 2014 My point was that now long ago, we were casting longing eyes at other teams' practice rosters, and suddenly with the horrible showing of the O-lines in BC, Edmonton and Hamilton, our NI O-line depth doesn't look so bad and may actually look good to those teams. Could Pencer have been worse than some of the linemen we saw in the recent games?
