iso_55 Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 Calgary Herald Stampeders beat writer Vicki Hall tweeted this afternoon that Drew Tate reinjured his throwing arm at practice today. Don't know the extent of the injury. Stamps being mum but looks like Kevin Glenn gets the start vs the Riders on Friday from what I can gather. The Stamps fanbase is getting fed up with the injuries Tate is accumulating & are hopeful that John Hufnagel leaves Tate unprotected in the Ottawa expansion draft. A significant number of Stamps fans are also wanting the team to move on from this guy & play Bo Levi Mitchell as the starter from here on in. Tate's now being referred to as Buck Tate on Stampeder fan sites. Nice security blanket with Kevin Glenn.
Brandon Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 That is unfortunate most likely we will end up with him next season :/
17to85 Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 This is exactly why Hufnagel insisted that Glenn came back when he traded Burris.
The Unknown Poster Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 Wouldn't Kevin Glenn look good here.
IC Khari Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 People want Glenn and Berry back ... how pathetic are we now?
The Unknown Poster Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 Doug berry should never have been fired. Glenn should never have been released. Pretty simple really. Maybe Tate could be had cheap.
Brandon Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 I don't think we can take another injury prone qb....
Jacquie Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 From TSN: According to the Stampeders, the setback is not the same injury, but it is in the same general area of this throwing arm. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=429268
kelownabomberfan Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 I don't think we can take another injury prone qb.... No thanks. I'd rather have BLM.
iso_55 Posted August 7, 2013 Author Report Posted August 7, 2013 Well, Vince Young signed with the Packers today so I guess that ends the wishes of some he come here. Thankfully.
iso_55 Posted August 7, 2013 Author Report Posted August 7, 2013 Article in the Calgary Herald today that Drew Tate has been told not to do anything until further notice. And that the Stamps have a hierarchy.... BTW, Tate's started just 9 of his last 23 games with the Stamps yet Hufnagel has given him the starting job with no competition. If you think it's crazy with Buck & the chances he got, what about this?

If you think it's crazy with Buck & the chances he got, what about this? well it was a rather lengthy injury last year for Tate right? at that point in his career it's still easy to say that the injury was just a fluke thing. Even Pierce got the benefit of the doubt at one point.
Bomber Diehard Posted August 8, 2013 Report Posted August 8, 2013 Tate no thanks~ we want Collaros from Toronto.
Guest Posted August 8, 2013 Report Posted August 8, 2013 Well at least now it looks like it won't be Tate as the protected Calgary QB.
rebusrankin Posted August 8, 2013 Report Posted August 8, 2013 Calgary won't protect Tate but can't see Ottawa taking him. I think they take Collaros or Wiley.
17to85 Posted August 8, 2013 Report Posted August 8, 2013 Kevin Glenn is going to be Ottawas starting quarterback, book it.

iso_55 Posted August 8, 2013 Author Report Posted August 8, 2013 If Huff protects Tate, gonna be a firestorm. The guy isn't well liked by the Stampeder fanbase. it'snot like the fans are wishing he'd come back.More like they wish he stayed away He brings it all on himself As he acts like a strange dude. The long hair he chopped off recently... What he said to TSN last year at halftime pretending to have a concussion, the crazy antics in a game with the yelling, screaming & pointing fingers at teammates. Now the injuries. Perception is everything. Bo Levi look & acts like a pro qb in waiting. Tate is totally different. Fans just don't have faith he is the guy long term. I don't think he is.
Brandon Posted August 8, 2013 Report Posted August 8, 2013 He's a weird dude for cutting his hair? I think the fans don't give a crap how he acts.... they are more likely done with him because he's Buck 2.0 and can't stay healthy. It only makes sense to keep Bo Levi since the kid is really young still and has a lot of upside and can easily destroy the Bombers defense day in and day out!
