JuranBoldenRules Posted July 10, 2014 Report Posted July 10, 2014 Speaking of Lapo on television, I wish they'd just put him on the panel & discuss the topics at hand instead of having a coaches insight.. I think his 3 or 4 minute time slot takes away from the discussion that I enjoy at halftime. I wish they'd get rid of everyone on the panel but Dunigan and Lapolice and actually talk about the football game they are covering.
Mike Posted July 10, 2014 Report Posted July 10, 2014 If people tune into TSN just to watch Sports Center then they have absolutely no life. That's a pretty broad (and ignorant) statement.
TBURGESS Posted July 10, 2014 Report Posted July 10, 2014 PLAP knows his stuff, but I still find him boring. More round table please. Matty's my favorite. Climie is articulate. The rest can be replaced IMHO.
Mr Dee Posted July 10, 2014 Report Posted July 10, 2014 From this …… ……to this?…...….Time for him to go?
Brandon Posted July 10, 2014 Report Posted July 10, 2014 Lapo is boooooooring, but I'd find him decent on the panel when he only has to speak a few sentences. Milt and Shultz are useless as a ***. I also wish they would have more of a pre game and post game show.... it would be nice for them to have more of a round table going over more of the teams.
iso_55 Posted July 10, 2014 Report Posted July 10, 2014 If people tune into TSN just to watch Sports Center then they have absolutely no life. That's a pretty broad (and ignorant) statement. C'mon Mike, really. No CFL post game show. Just right to Sports Centre because that's what every football & non football fan wants? Too much salt on your cornflakes this morning, perhaps?
Mr Dee Posted July 10, 2014 Report Posted July 10, 2014 I heartily agree there should be a CFL Post-Game show. Especially this year. I mean, after a climax like those last two Bomber games you can't just up and leave. Where's the cigarette and small talk? (minus the cigarette of course) iso_55 1
gbill2004 Posted July 10, 2014 Author Report Posted July 10, 2014 I agree with the post-game show. You'd think with TSN losing NHL broadcasting rights they'd add more to their CFL production.
17to85 Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 I don't recall TSN doing much of a post game show for NHL either. Sportscentre whether you like it or not is a big thing for TSN. Think of it like the post game show for every sport that happened that day.
road griller Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 I would rather listen to paint dry than that coaches crap. Who is he coaching for anyways?
rebusrankin Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 Would like more of a post game show, although I do like Sports Center too.
17to85 Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 I just can't understand why people would want a TSN post game show... you want to listen to more of Schultz babbling about stupid nonsense?
iso_55 Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 It's not all about Schultz. But the coaching stuff, yeah it's okay but really most fans don't care. LaPo will explain it & 5 mins later it's in one ear & out the next.
Tracker Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 I usually listen to OB's post-game show. Bob Irving has to be the best sportscaster since Don Wittman.
iso_55 Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 On TSN we get a pre game show, maybe a double header like this Friday & Saturday nights, 6 hours of football & then boom, finished, over to Sports Center in 15 seconds & to me, it's a big let down as now we're into baseball highlights. Mr Dee 1
17to85 Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 Better baseball highlights and the blatherings of the morons TSN has on their panel.
Jpan85 Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 Laptop is alright if you deal with umm okay every 20 seconds. Bad verbal crutch.
iso_55 Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 Better baseball highlights and the blatherings of the morons TSN has on their panel. No... Not in a million years. That panel that you despise so much helped to popularize the CFL to a level no one here thought possible just 5 years ago. Those guys helped to rejuvenate a dead product. Think back to the late 90's where the CFL was back then. Couldn't sell out a Grey Cup, abysmal ratings. Look at the league now. The panel is one of the reasons the games are popular now. You'd rather watch baseball or soccer highlights instead of even a 15 or 30 minute post game show? Not me. GCJenks and Mr Dee 2

You'd rather watch baseball or soccer highlights instead of even a 15 or 30 minute post game show? Not me. I dissagree iso. I think think the popularity comes mostly from the fact that now they show every game. Letting every fan of every team, (Not just the Ontario area teams.), watch every one of their games on TV is what helped create this eximent that we see today for the CFL. If TSN up and changed every single panel member for the pre game show, I don't think the ratings would change one bit. People are tuning in for the game, not the panelists.
Atomic Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 Keep in mind that if you watch SportsCenter right after the game, they always show a 5 or 6 minute post game segment with the panel and also show interviews with players/coaches from the game.
Mr Dee Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 Fans are starved for CFL football and with hardly any news during the week, TSN has centre stage starting on the weekends. Each team's fans want to hear news and views about their teams both before and after the games. So, to say it's not about the panel is only mildly correct. If they're talking football and especially about the game…there will be interest. I do forget about the post-game segment in the Sports Centre and I guess they need a little time to set it up, so, IMO, they still should title it Post-Game and have some sports news 'til they're ready or at the very least, pump it up. The Sports Panel guys are who they are and for better or worse, and at least we do have that show for the CFL news and views. iso_55 1
road griller Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 I like how LaPo bends at the waist and leans into the other dude. Reminds me of a server taking an order at the old folks home. So cute.
Fresh Prince Of Belair MB Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 Anyone have a link to the hit? I must have missed it.
Noeller Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 SportsCentre = cheap cheap cheap to produce. Almost zero overhead. That's why it's on so much... iso_55 1
