HardCoreBlue Posted July 14, 2014 Report Posted July 14, 2014 Yes they did. I guess what should say is the quick game needs to function better. I watched parts of the game again today...on several plays quick passes to the flats when the Als brought the house would've gained good yardage. There was literally no one out there. We didn't make them pay for the blitz often enough - until we do teams will be pinning their ears back. Exactly, 'enough' being the key word. Just out of curiousity, how many screens/draws did we attempt, anyone know?
do or die Posted July 14, 2014 Report Posted July 14, 2014 You didn't bring up my name - just no way to treat an ole flame, Lyle. Regards, Brett MacNeil Noeller 1
kelownabomberfan Posted July 14, 2014 Report Posted July 14, 2014 If we are really in need of a center, John Bonk must still be out there somewhere waiting for the phone to ring.
Mr. Perfect Posted July 14, 2014 Report Posted July 14, 2014 Brandon Dyson is always willing to end another career or two...
Fatty Liver Posted July 14, 2014 Report Posted July 14, 2014 Is he still in prison? I imagine he's out by now. Heard he changed his name to Jack Brian and he lives back of the track in Hakensack.

iso_55 Posted July 14, 2014 Report Posted July 14, 2014 Trade Watson then sign Etienne. Problem solved. OMG, you serious?? Let it go, the draft bust isn't coming back. With the receiving situation in Saskatchewan in turmoil, Etienne couldn't make their team & hasn't been brought back since Getzlaff has been out. Nasty Nate 1
iso_55 Posted July 14, 2014 Report Posted July 14, 2014 How long do the Bombers hang on to Corey Watson now that Julian Feoli-Gudino is making a name for himself? I wouldn't want to take him out of the lineup now if Watson was healthy enough to come back to play. The guy is making making big plays for us. We want players like that on the field not standing on the sidelines. Hell I would take out Denmark and roll with 3 Canadian receivers. We are already using Kohlert and JFG well enough, the question is can Watson be a bigger impact than Denmark and I say yes he can. When he plays which isn't often.
Armchair GM Posted July 14, 2014 Report Posted July 14, 2014 Trade Watson then sign Etienne. Problem solved. OMG, serious?? So you have 3 starting calibre NI's in Watson, JFG and Kohlert. Not game changing players, but starter quality NI receivers. And you have an OL that has been deficient for a number of years. Watman shores up a guard position for you immediately, and could be our ticket to no Morley by year's end. Etienne is signed to backup the 2 NI starting receivers; and at least has some upside to him. How is that terrible?
Nasty Nate Posted July 14, 2014 Author Report Posted July 14, 2014 Brandon Dyson is always willing to end another career or two... Wonder if Jermese Jones would consider a comeback:? Or convert retired Doug Brown DT to retired Doug Brown OG?

Now, you want a guy brought back who should be playing senior men's to back up a receiver position? Etienne had his chance & couldn't do it with 2 teams. No thanks. Nasty Nate 1

gbill2004 Posted July 14, 2014 Report Posted July 14, 2014 Remember Gord Hinse can start practicing next week and come off the 6 game IR in a little over 2 weeks.
Captain Blue Posted July 14, 2014 Report Posted July 14, 2014 I can hardly wait for your next post, Nate, on going after Casey Printers. You can screw right off with this idea and your hilarious "hidden" insult at Bomber fans.

Etienne is signed to backup the 2 NI starting receivers; and at least has some upside to him. How is that terrible? Leaving aside the assumptions on Watman being better than what we currently have, why would Saskatchewan trade Watman? He's one injury from starting, and Picard is coming to the end of the line. Saskatachewan doesn't have the depth to make that trade. They have Watman, Clark and Vonk (PR) behind 4 NI starters on the OL.
gbill2004 Posted July 14, 2014 Report Posted July 14, 2014 With the emergence of JFG, if we could get Watman for Watson, I'd probably make that trade. Pretty sure Taman wouldn't though.

Mike Posted July 14, 2014 Report Posted July 14, 2014 Never understood the fascination with dealing depth as soon as we acquire it. Floyd, tacklewasher, Jacquie and 2 others 5

If not for Wattman... we can try send him (Watson) back to Montreal for any of their young interior OL? You mean the ones who are starting for them? They have zero depth. They have 7 NI OL active, nobody behind them, the 7th OL being a mid-round pick from this season. Baillageron is out for the season. Good luck trading for a Canadian OL this season.
