Jpan85 Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 Kirk Penton @PentonKirk 3m #CFL source: #Bombers are bringing in former #Ticats head coach Marcel Bellefeuille as a consultant. Bombers won't comment.
Mr Dee Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 And here we go. For now, I like this move.
Captain Blue Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 Well at least we're bringing in someone familiar with the CFL. It is hard to keep track of all the reports and rumours, but if Crowton has had play calls taken away from him, and Bellefuille has a history as an offensive coordinator....well connect the dots. With Mack out I wonder if Burke really wanted a CFL guy at OC. Not really a fan of his though. Edit: I swear though if I have to watch Buck Pierce play more this season I am going to flip my ****.
Captain Blue Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 And here we go. For now, I like this move. These past few days I cannot get the Joker "And here we go" gif out of my head. We are one hell of an entertaining gongshow.
Jpan85 Posted August 11, 2013 Author Report Posted August 11, 2013 He was pretty successful when he was just a OC with the Roughriders and Als
Logan007 Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 Well, at least he was successful as an OC, not so much as a HC.
Bomber Diehard Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 A great move, always liked the guy but i wonder if Crowton looking over his sholuder?
Jacquie Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 With Mack out I wonder if Burke really wanted a CFL guy at OC. Burke said at the start of the bye week that they were going to bring in a consultant so I'm not sure what Mack being gone has to do with this. And Burke was saying he would keep Crowton as OC when he still had the interim tag.
Brandon Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 This is a good start, someone with cfl experience that can help out. Is he going to consult with the offense or as a gm?
Noeller Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 They've been talking about this for weeks now. Just a guy to look at film and give a bit of input. Nothing to do with the Mack/Buchko stuff. Smart to get a successful CFL OC to lend a helping hand.

Captain Blue Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 Or to take over the job hmmmmm Ya I'm not so sure this is the last move as it relates to Bellefuille.
rebusrankin Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 I like that they are bringing in somebody with CFL experience, don't like that its Marcel. In 2007 when he was OC in Montreal they were 7th in points scored and A.C. struggled. Recall he was the guy trying to change A.C.'s mechanics and drops.
BB_Champ2020 Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 Guy that's struggled to run a CFL offense... or a guy that's had success... on more than one team. I'm not sure if this was in the works before Mack got fired, but at this point I hope he's Crowton's replacement. Why bring him in to mentor or help the offense, if he's more qualified to run it than the guy we have now?

In 2007 when he was OC in Montreal they were 7th in points scored and A.C. struggled. Recall he was the guy trying to change A.C.'s mechanics and drops. Pretty much that.
iso_55 Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 A great move, always liked the guy but i wonder if Crowton looking over his sholuder? He should be. This is a performace based business.
The Unknown Poster Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 Just can Crowten and be done with it. I heard Burke expand on his consultant suggestion and it was a matter of someone looking over film etc. but you'd think hiring a CFL guy with experience would certainly mean crow is gonzo
IC Khari Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 Bellfool over Crowton any day ... road griller 1
Mr. Perfect Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 While I don't like Belle-fool at all, at least he can help Crowton, or take over in some situations. That being said, if he is here next year as a head coach or OC, I'll be extremely pissed!
Zontar Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 What knowledge could he possibly add ? Where is the advantage or benefit ? Not getting this.
TrueBlue Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 Hopefully just an experienced CFL mind to give some input. I don't want him involved in our long term plans though.
Mr Dee Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 Marcel "Beautiful Sheet" has got to be better than what we've presented so far this year.
JohnnyOnTheSpot Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 I like that they are bringing in somebody with CFL experience, don't like that its Marcel. In 2007 when he was OC in Montreal they were 7th in points scored and A.C. struggled. Recall he was the guy trying to change A.C.'s mechanics and drops. Milanovich was QB coach that year. He was responsible for changing AC's mechanics. Calvillo tunes up with new quarterback coach
DR. CFL Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 They ran him out of Sask and he was a disaster in Hamilton. But alas a great endorsement being better than Crowton.
