johnzo Posted July 18, 2014 Report Posted July 18, 2014 Me and the spouse are checking out some Fringe shows while we're in town this weekend. We're going to see: Aiden Flynn Lost His Brother So He Made Another Caws and Effect Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Hopefully they will be more entertaining than the Bomber game this weekend. Anyone else going?
Harbaugh Posted July 24, 2014 Report Posted July 24, 2014 I'm gonna check out Nashville Hurricane this weekend.
comedygeek Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 Did you like Caws & Effect? They rehearsed in the space that I run when they got into town, and the piano used in the soundtrack was actually my 4th generation piano (I didn't know this until they told me after the show I saw).Heard Nashville Hurricane was insane, but I missed it myself. I saw a bunch of my friends' shows and a couple out-of-town shows (I think 14 in total?) but missed out on some good ones.
The Unknown Poster Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 Usually Im not into these things because bad acting and bad scripting aggravate me, especially when put on by people who think they are a lot more clever than they are. But I saw Bloodsuckers this past weekend and it was great!
Fraser Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 my favourite part of the fringe what that they blocked the road off cause pan am couldn't make us run laps all week.
johnzo Posted August 5, 2014 Author Report Posted August 5, 2014 Everything we saw was fantastic. I think my favourite was the Aiden Flynn show. I don't think I'll ever forget the man-falling-through-ice scene, what a piece of stagecraft. I asked the Caws people if they had a live band backstage but they denied it; whatever they did, it sounded live, it had a really warm organic sound with drums that were punchy as hell.
