rebusrankin Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 This was just a little piece in yesterday's Sun but Penton reported that Henoc has turned down an extension offer that would pay him Shea Emry money. Anybody else worried that he pulls a Labbate and leaves? I mean is it a money thing? Not wanting to be here? Piggy 1 1
Armchair GM Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 My bigger hope is that he hasn't grown tired of the circus, realized he has talent, and doesn't want to make a decision based on a hope and a prayer that the Bombers will straighten themselves out.
Mike Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 He turned down that extension a while ago, not recently.
kelownabomberfan Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 I still think he is going to try the NFL.
Super Duper Negatron Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 We need some form of restricted free agency in the CFL, like, yesterday.
17to85 Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 I still think he is going to try the NFL. I had that thought as well, sure he can at least get a look as a special teamer down there right?
Atomic Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 He'll definitely give it a shot. Whether he actually gets a deal, who knows. But at his age he'd be silly not to have a look, it's not like he won't be able to find work in the CFL if it doesn't work out.
rebusrankin Posted August 12, 2013 Author Report Posted August 12, 2013 Thanks Mike. I hope no NFL although seems possible.
Blueandgold Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 I feel that he might not be a Bomber after this.
kelownabomberfan Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 I feel that he might not be a Bomber after this. Hope that he takes Cauchy with him then. pigseye 1
Guest Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 Henoc will try to see if he gets an NFL shot that's for sure, although I'm not confident that we'll continue to see him in Bomber Blue if that fails and he stays in the CFL.
bluto Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 pull a Labatte? where do his parents live?
Jacquie Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 pull a Labatte? where do his parents live? Mississauga iirc.
MOBomberFan Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 pull a Labatte? where do his parents live? Like you don't know
Logan007 Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 He's either waiting to try out for the NFL or waiting to see what happens with the Bombers. If we start winning I bet he stays, if we don't he'll probably jump ship. He wants to be on a Grey cup contender team just like everyone else. ...OR Bluto went and ruined our chances by convincing his mom and dad that they should talk him into joining the Ti-Cats or Argo's. Bastid!

rebusrankin Posted August 14, 2013 Author Report Posted August 14, 2013 Bluto, if you guys steal Henoc you have to take Cauncy too.
bluto Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 Bluto, if you guys steal Henoc you have to take Cauncy too. already have a pretty good NI safety (also had a drink with his folks on the night i met Henoc's)... but i expect that our 2013 second rounder will take the spot sooner or later. a good pair of GTA boys... so i don't think Cauchy would get on our roster... maybe a short drive down the QEW he'd have more luck...
bluto Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 but seriously folks, if i'm a CFL player agent with guys in the final year of their contracts, i'd be strongly advising none of them to extend until after the new CBA is agreed to. it seems to be generally accepted that the SMS will raise significantly after the new TV deal, so agreeing to a deal before finding out how much more you can ask for is just a bad idea. i think that the era of $200k+ NI star-level-players starts in 2014.

It's a smart point (by an Argo fan no less)... that said, the GM's and player agents should have a pretty good handle on what the new TV deal will bring in for revenues; and the effect on the SMS. Wouldn't be surprised if they've got a working understanding, but that the player side would be unwilling to put pen to paper until the CBA is official.
pigseye Posted September 21, 2013 Report Posted September 21, 2013 Sorry but I had to necro this after last nights second half of letting a gimpy Charles run all over us. Please trade him now for anything of value, he was/is a complete sieve in the middle of our defence, weakest link by far next to his inept brother.
Mr Dee Posted September 21, 2013 Report Posted September 21, 2013 So Muamba is a complete sieve and the opponents had no influence on their own successful plays. That means the opponents erred a lot in their assignments whenever Henoc managed to get involved. Question. How many of the other teams, including Ottawa, would grab Henoc if they could?

The only teams who would be interested in him are the ones who are light on their NI starters. Anyone with good NI depth wouldn't even consider starting him at MLB.
