Practice report August 4

Goosen is practicing with the starters at RG. Looks like he'll start if Neufeld can't go. Howard still at RT.

Gord Hinse is now practicing. Guess he's been activated off the 6 game IR.

Last week O'shea said sears and a few others (alexander i believe was one) are "weeks" away from returning.

I don't see Sears here. Suber is in street clothes talking to fans in the stands. Alexander is at practice but not wearing his helmet.

I expect Grigsby to be heavily involved in the passing game this week.

Portis looks very good. Looks to be quite mobile and an accurate arm with some zip on it. In his limited reps today I like him more than Brohm. Could be a sleeper to be our backup QB next season.

Willy just connected with Watson on a beautiful 25 yard pass down the middle. Willy also connected with Kelly on a couple deep balls. Still having chemistry issues with Bryant it seems; I did see the two of them talking a lot today.

For those of you who are there (thanks for the reports!) how many fans are taking in practice? Being a holiday and a beautiful day, I suspect it's more than normal?

Lots of fans. My guess is 100.

Donovan Kemp looks to be seriously injured.

too bad about Kemp-hope its not too bad. Good news about Portis looking like a keeper- we may have the best set of backup QBs in the league. We still need to have a good running game, a breakaway receiver and a kick returner who inspires incontinence among the opposition tacklers.
