gbill2004 Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 The bidding war begins... If he signs with the Riders, I wonder if he plays this Sunday? Do the Bombers try to make a big splash and try to sign him? Who would you prefer the Bombers sign...Dressler or Matthews?
saskbluefan Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 I was hoping he would last another week. We will probably be facing him this Sunday.
gbill2004 Posted August 25, 2014 Author Report Posted August 25, 2014 Madani thinks Trestman and the Bears might show some interest in Dressler.
Bomber_fanaddict Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 I'd like to see him here but there will be a fight over him and he will likely go back to Sask. Anyone think he will suffer the NFL hangover though and be sluggish out of the gate similar to what we saw with Fantuz?
voodoochylde Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 Madani thinks Trestman and the Bears might show some interest in Dressler. Madani is talking out his rear end. #BearDown AtlanticRiderFan 1

saskbluefan Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 If I were one of the other West teams I would make sure the Riders have to make him the highest paid receiver in the league. You might not get him but you can make it tougher for the Riders to manage the cap going forward.

Bomber_fanaddict Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 How big of a story would it be if he signed with the Bombers and then went into Sask on Labour Day against them.........Rod Black would have an aneurysm trying to figure out if he should talk about John Chick or Weston Dressler more...

M.O.A.B. Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 Does he plays RB? If KW will be able to sign him who sits?
Dirty30 Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 Cotton sits, Romby Bryant is let go. I'd prefer to have Matthews though if both were available. I think he would fit better with the receivers we have and would probably be a lot cheaper. He could add a whole new dimension with his height to the current core. Dressler would be an amazing addition who would probably already have some chemistry with Willy, but I believe he would have to come at a crazy cost.

Maybe Stoudermire can be the emergency RB if ever Grigsby goes down.
17to85 Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 I'd prefer to have Matthews though if both were available. Dressler is the better player AINEC, Blue-urns and AtlanticRiderFan 2
Noeller Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 Matthews is a glorified Greg Carr is a glorified Aaron Kelly.....Dressler is a multi-talented A-List receiver, and would likely become our best offensive weapon (after Willy...) blitzmore and Blue-urns 2

And the two guys (Dressler and Willy) might have some familiarity with one another .. coming out of Saskatchewan .. that can't hurt from a chemistry standpoint. Noeller and Blue-urns 2
saskbluefan Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 I'd prefer to have Matthews though if both were available.Dressler is the better player AINEC, I don't know what AINEC means but absolutely Dressler is better thn Matthews.

Aaron Kelly is 6'5 already so it's not like we don't havea guy with his size.. I'd take Dressler over Matthews in a heartbeat. Blue-urns 1

Dirty30 Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 Dressler is the better receiver, but do you want to put all your eggs in one basket? If the Bombers were to sign Dressler they probably wouldn't have any cap room left to sign any other nfl cuts if they became available?
Fan Boy Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 I'd prefer to have Matthews though if both were available.Dressler is the better player AINEC, I don't know what AINEC means but absolutely Dressler is better thn Matthews. And It's Not Even Close Thanks. And agree. I saw some evaluation of Mathews as not putting in the effort in NFL camp. He seemed to lose interest in CFL before. If he can't get up for NFL he won't be any good at all here. I remember him as a guy who could play not a guy who loves to play. You can't play this game half way. On second thought I might be confusing him with Greg Carr. All tall skinny receivers look alike to me.
LeBird Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 Mathews would need a major Mo adjustment. All the talk about Dressler is getting the rider fans real jumpy.
