Guest Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 Hopefully we can get him back here, however two things working against us, is the amount of money Ottawa is probably willing to spend and O'Shea liking "his guys".

I'm hoping Matthews still have a bad taste in his mouth playing for last place team. Sometimes it's not all about the money. I'm not actually worried about Ottawa. I'm worried if Cgy, Edm and BC join the bidding. B-F-F-C 1
Dirty30 Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 With Moore out the Bombers better not be out bid by anyone. Floyd 1
Jpan85 Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 I guess that the new phrase that pays is O'Shea guy. Hmmmm T-Shirts possibility, "I am a O'Shea Guy." Floyd 1
M.O.A.B. Posted September 4, 2014 Author Report Posted September 4, 2014 Does Chris Matthews has a twitter page?
Blueandgold Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 Seen this coming when Bryan Walters was brought back into the fold. Sucks for Matthews but potentially great for the Bombers. Having him back in the fold for the BC game would be great, hell if he can get into Winnipeg by noon Sunday I'd take him fresh off a plane over Romby. Assuming he re-signs with us of course.
Blueandgold Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 Hopefully we can get him back here, however two things working against us, is the amount of money Ottawa is probably willing to spend and O'Shea liking "his guys". If we elect to keep ham n eggers like Kelly and Romby over Matthews we should probably just bring back Tim Burke. Luckily, Walters likes Matthews and I don't anticipate much of a problem bringing him back unless Ottawa throws crazy money at him.
Tracker Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 With Moore down hard and neither Romby or Aaron stepped forward to be the go-to guy, we really need a someone with Matthews' talents- he could be the difference between making the playoffs and not.
Jpan85 Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 Have to wait to see if any other NFL team picks him up.
Blueandgold Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 Have to wait to see if any other NFL team picks him up. Seems doubtful at this point. Most teams are set right now. The question is, how long will Matthews wait before coming back to the CFL?
M.O.A.B. Posted September 4, 2014 Author Report Posted September 4, 2014 Walters should be on the phone with his agent already convincing them thats the best option for Matthews is to come back to the Bombers Walters make it happen
Jpan85 Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 NFL teams are never set the bottom 1/5 of a roster is always in flux looking for a upgrade at anytime. I would be surprised if Matthews would sign a CFL deal in the next 7 days.
Floyd Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 Matthews-JFG-Watson-Denmark-Kohlert would actually be a solid receiving core
pigseye Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 As much as I like CM, I'd sooner see a big RB brought in to spell off Grigsby.
Logan007 Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 Hopefully we can get him back here, however two things working against us, is the amount of money Ottawa is probably willing to spend and O'Shea liking "his guys". Unfortunately for O'Shea, it's not up to him who Walters brings in. Although I'm sure they talk about who they'd like, it's Walters final decision.
JayPee Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 As much as I like CM, I'd sooner see a big RB brought in to spell off Grigsby. Who says we can't have both? SPuDS and 17to85 2

Mr. Perfect Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 Especially when you can get a power back (or any FA back) off the market for cheap at this time of year - Not that I anticipate us making that move. If we were, it would have been done already.
SPuDS Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 I don't expect to see a big bruiser RB brought in but you would think Matthews would be a viable option..
Bomber_fanaddict Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 We need some businesses to step up. Free Shawarama from Obby Khan, free car washes from Chamois, Sals Nips for life, free passes to the zoo, name a pot hole or something stupid after him, whatever! Works in Regina.
