gbill2004 Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 @Wpg_BlueBombers: #Bombers add defensive linemen Willie Moseley and Marvin Booker to practice roster. Both internationals.
Mike Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 I hope Booker gives a QB the axe kick and celebrates with a spinaroonie. I'd buy his jersey immediately. Blueandgold, bigg jay, SPuDS and 2 others 5
Tracker Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 I'm not sure about Moseley, but the other two d-linemen recently signed are defensive ends and it seems to me that our problems on our line are in the middle, not the ends. I wonder what the thinking is behind these signings. DR. CFL 1
DR. CFL Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 I hope these additions aren't more of the same body types that fit Etch's wish list and scheme. Teams successful against the inside run game have at least one hulking, bruising inside DT as a run stopper who can also collapse the pocket. This team currently is undersized on defence.
gbill2004 Posted September 4, 2014 Author Report Posted September 4, 2014 Turner, Thomas and Anderson are big boys, no?

pigseye Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 2 more speed rushers to go with Gibson, who'd of thunk it.

Then you're wrong. We had the same defensive tackles with Tim Burke and run stopping wasn't a huge area of concern.
Floyd Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 Kirk Penton @PentonKirk New defensive end Marvin Booker and right tackle Cordaro Howard need to be separated after a play. #Bombers Like him already... bigg jay and Mr. Perfect 2

DR. CFL Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 Scheme and personnel.....you can decide the percentage of each that is contributing to the lack of a run defence.
Goalie Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 be sweet if booker got 5 sacks in a game, then did the 5x 5x 5x 5x 5x shtick after the game talking to irving. bigg jay 1

M.O.A.B. Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 Moseley is versatile and can play multiple position on the D.. he played DE and LB (inside and outside) in college. I remember most if us thought he would make the roster instead of Frazer after TC.
James Posted September 5, 2014 Report Posted September 5, 2014 I like Booker's Measurable's. Hopefully he can play football
Nasty Nate Posted September 5, 2014 Report Posted September 5, 2014 I still remember the days when guys like Herb Grey, Phil Minnick, etc. would stuff legends like George Reed, Earl "Earthquake' Lunsford, Lovell Coleman, George Dixon, etc. As for a previous poster stating Zack Anderson was a big guy - he sure got swallowed up big-time in Benny Heenan's basket. Looked pretty small and ineffective against a monster like Heenan. I think Kromah and Kuale might be solid for the first half Sunday. Then who knows? pigseye 1
M.O.A.B. Posted September 5, 2014 Report Posted September 5, 2014 I think this will be the game that Kromah will steal a spot. Last time, he played backup of the Wild man who got 14 tackles that game (vs Als). With Wild being out this week he will get all the chances to make his play.

Except that Turner was matched up against Heenan a fair bit more than Anderson...
