mfranc Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 The inner turmoil for the Rider fan base will be rippling beneath the surface, with the stalk realization that their season, and subsequent reserved title, will all come crashing down. When that realization bubbles to the surface, there will be panic and whining and finger pointing and angst. Their 'lost without Durant' panic thread will explode to over 100 posts and may set a new record for posts. And we will be smiling. Not because of any disdain for Durant, but we know of adages and the "what goes around…comes around" factor. Actually most are okay with Sunseri. There is no replacing Durant but the Riders are a veteran team with a tonne of talent. Tino doesn't have to force anything. Yes, but that's because you're in the 'rippling beneath the surface phase'. Wait…just wait. lol Whatever gets you through the night.
mbrg Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 Curious to see if the Riders go with Sunseri, Doege and Price (assuming he signs, as reported), or if they bring in a CFL experienced guy as well - something like what Ottawa did. There is a big debate going on. Personally I am in favour of rolling with Sunseri. Not too many decent vets around anyway. MICHAEL BISHOP REUNION TOUR!!!

Well, we have no choice but most are confident that Tino will do "okay." He's not Darian but he'll do fine.

Fraser Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 I hope they lose out and we'll see how well the "best fans in the CFL" act when they have to watch the team play like the trash that they were for the first 95 years of their "storied" history. Bigblue204, SPuDS, Mark F and 2 others 5

Last game of 2013 Tino played against the Eskimos and had excellent stats and that "it" factor. Further he came of the bench against BC for the second half trailing the game and led the Riders to a comeback win. He's decent. You'll see.
TBieber Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 Taman said at his press conference that they're working to sign Keith Price, and that would likely be it. Will look at a CFL vet, but obviously the list is pretty thin.

You mean like 3-0? I'd use more meaningful numbers. Like 103-4. The near mathematical impossibility of only winning 4 championships in 103 tries. In a 9 team league. Or more personal numbers. Like 10-4. Counting rings.
Brandon Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 Lol Dinwiddie had moxie , that's usually a description used when one has no proof. Sunseri seems OK, doesn't play scared and has a decent arm. So I would expect him to be more then crap like Brink. I wouldn't compare him to Willy until he plays a few more games.
sweep the leg Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 I think Sunseri will be ok. He can probably provide the 200 yards passing they've been getting from Durant. His job will be to not lose games for them.

johnzo Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 Apparently the ref who blew the whistle is the only one who heard it. For what it's worth, I remember hearing the whistle on my crappy stream, so TSN had the field mic'd up right to catch it. It's strange TSN did not play an audio replay of it during the broadcast although Cuthbert and Suitor reported that their producers confirmed there was a whistle on the play. Gotta confirm that tonight with USA's youtubes...
johnzo Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 You should always be optimistic about your team's chances. We were optimistic about Dinwiddie's abilities in November of 2007. IT WAS 3 YARDS!!! RUN FORWARD!!! Man, just reading that I can close my eyes and see that exact play. Heartbreaking. basslicker 1
