Jpan85 Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 Chris Garrett @TheChrisGarrett 2m It's been great playing for the Winnipeg blue bombers organization and the fans, ill bounce back.. Trust!
Atomic Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 Chris Garrett @TheChrisGarrett10m I was never given a chance.. But hey that's life right? I'll b ok
Mike Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 I saw him at Ichiban last night with Stewart and Sears ... didn't seem like he knew at that point.
TheGhostOfJoeMack Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 Not sure why this move is being made. Hes been pretty vocal the last few days on Twitter about getting some playing time but not in a bad way. Just sounded motivated IMO. Too bad, because he really dominated when he was given the chance.

He was on his second contract so it was probably higher than the minimum, albeit not by much. We've got two other import running backs, no reason to spend the salary on a third on the IR if we could use it in other areas. I know Joe Mack really liked him so that might be why he stuck around as long as he did.
kelownabomberfan Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 no doubt Miller and Walters have been conducting a strategic review and going through the roster, asking "why is he here?" and "why is he starting?" to every player currently on the roster. Example: "Why is Morley starting?" "He has a picture of Mack with a sheep". "Ok - then start Swiston this week". "Why is Garrett still around?" "Mack liked him and wouldn't let us cut him". "Ok, he's gone". Next.....
voodoochylde Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 Not a fan of this move to be honest. If he was healthy, I feel he brings more to the table than what Ford does. TheGhostOfJoeMack and Logan007 2

At least Garrett proved he could carry the rock. Ford has done nothing. If were just in salary dump mode right now why is Buck still here?
Jpan85 Posted August 14, 2013 Author Report Posted August 14, 2013 Blue Bombers release threeWednesday, August 14th, 2013 The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have released import defensive lineman Marquis Frazier, import running back Chris Garrett and import defensive back David James. Frazier appeared in two games with the Blue Bombers after signing with the team in July, recording three tackles and one sack. Garrett appeared in 11 games over four seasons with the Blue Bombers, rushing for 689 yards and four touchdowns over that span. He missed all of last season with an injury and was yet to suit up in a game this year. James attended training camp with the team and was signed to the practice roster earlier this month.

Mr. Perfect Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 Not a fan of the move either, but it`s a new regime and lots more changes will be coming as has already been said. Oh well.
holoman Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 I love Garrett as much as the next guy, but it's week 8 and dude hasn't played a snap. Doubt he will at all IMO, makes sense.
kelownabomberfan Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 I love Garrett as much as the next guy, but it's week 8 and dude hasn't played a snap. Doubt he will at all IMO, makes sense. I saw him as insurance in case Simpson went down. Should Simpson go down, he's just a call away. In the interim we don't have to pay him.
rebusrankin Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 Frazier being cut makes sense with Gilmore and Anderson being healthy. Surprised James was cut so quickly again but whatever. Surprised about Garrett, like him better than Ford. $ concern? Seen as not good enough?
The Unknown Poster Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 Without Simpson, Garrett is likely the starter over Ford. But with Simpson, we don't need Garrett. Save us some coin and let the kid go play somewhere. Buck is here because thus far, he's our best option at QB.
kelownabomberfan Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 Buck is here because thus far, he's our best option at QB. Uhhhh...what?

The Unknown Poster Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 If Hall is worse than Goltz & Buck, who do you start next week? If it's me, I go with the veteran. Glenn was played out but sure proved to have something left in the tank. I'm not willing to write off the only QB we have that has ever won (or even shown to have talent to win).
TBURGESS Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 I'm not surprised or upset. Garrett was good for a stretch about two years ago. Not needed anymore.
