Blueandgold Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 Almost every tailback got a turn with the first team O. I hope they don't take Sears out of the lineup just because Bruce is back.
Jpan85 Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 Guessing Willy getting a day to rest his shoulder.

He's been arguably our best DB this year.
gbill2004 Posted September 30, 2014 Author Report Posted September 30, 2014 @PentonKirk: Graig Newman has his practice jersey on today and is out watching practice. #Bombers

Randle has been the best and I don't think that's really up for debate. Johnson has been good no question about that, but has he been better than Washington? Not sure I can go that far. Was he any better than Sears was? Don't think I can say that either, has he been better than Leggett? Dunno about that either. Really what we have is a secondary that have all been doing quite a good job. Sears I wouldn't replace though, too much of a playmaker, gotta make room on the roster for guys like that. Jpan85 1
gbill2004 Posted September 30, 2014 Author Report Posted September 30, 2014 I still don't understand the Dunn over Sears roster decision. Floyd 1
Jpan85 Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 Randles mere prescience in the line up makes him the best d player most weeks. It virtually takes away the short side WR every week.
Blueandgold Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 I still don't understand the Dunn over Sears roster decision. There's quite a few players who don't deserve to play over Sears.

M.O.A.B. Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 according to Penton, Sears could be returning kicks this week and McGuffie will play too.
Blueandgold Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 according to Penton, Sears could be returning kicks this week and McGuffie will play too. Unless one of them handles all the returning, dressing two import tailbacks is a waste of a roster spot IMO.

Unless one of them handles all the returning, dressing two import tailbacks is a waste of a roster spot IMO. I disagree. Look at Cortez system, he has 2 import tailbacks every game but they have Tristan Jackson returning kicks. It's only a waste of spot if you don't utilize the other back. Even now, Volny is a waste of spot. If Marcel can give each RB a number of snaps during the game by alternating them or on 2-backs packages, it's not a waste of spot, imo.
pigseye Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 Legget by far is the MVP of that secondary, I'd say Johnson & Randle are pretty much a toss up both have been solid, Washington's been okay but not at the same level as the other three just mentioned and Bucknor I will say has been a pleasant surprise considering.
Mr Dee Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 It's quite remarkable how the secondary has been shaped this year with player additions like Leggett, Randle and Johnson. We knew what Washington was capable of but the nice surprise is the play of Bucknor…he definitely is no thrown-in Canadian slouch. As to Desia Dunn, obviously there is more to his play than we can appreciate, as he has been a stable on defence for two years, forcing Sears to vie for a secondary position. Ratio issues has forced another NI in the LB core but again, Big League has stepped up and handled that quite nicely. If the NI situation was solved on O, would Sears displace an NI on D?
M.O.A.B. Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 Sears became a casualty when Sherman stole the SAM/Dollar spot. I would rank him higher than Unamba though. I am still not sold on Dunn but the fact we're not hearing his name a lot probably means he's doing his job, just like Bruce.

Mike Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 McGuffie isn't just a RB, he'll play receiver too.
sweep the leg Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 McGuffie isn't just a RB, he'll play receiver too. So has Paris Cotton fallen off the map? I like McGuffie just b/c he has a highlight video with Marky Mark music behind it.
Floyd Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 So nice to see a practice update... they seem few and far between - thanks Mark F, Brandon Blue&Gold, Blue-urns and 1 other 4
17to85 Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 Sears became a casualty when Sherman stole the SAM/Dollar spot. Sherman didn't steal anything, he simply did an OK job and because of ratio reasons is still there. Rest assured that if it weren't for the ratio Sears would have been back there as soon as he was healthy. Brandon Blue&Gold and Blueandgold 2
