Doublezero Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 Almost 30 people on the operations side of things now: managers, directors, assistant directors, coaches, etc. That's almost as many football operations folks as uninjured players. Who is Assistant Director of Football Operations Madeleine Norwell? When did she join the club and what does she do? Anyone? Link: http://www.bluebombers.com/football-operations
Noeller Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 I would call that a personal assistant/receptjonist/secretary gig....
Mike Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 If I had to guess, I'd say she probably handles travel logistics, ensuring all players and staff have up to date schedules for travel, practice, etc, handles the per diems and just general stuff like that. But that's a total guess. Noeller 1

mbrg Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 So the thing we suspected Ross Hodgkinson used to do under a slightly fancier title?
Mr Dee Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 She saw the job posting @ Pinnacle and gave it a shot. And yeah, wow, that is one long list. It actually needs a side scroll bar.
johnzo Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 According to linkedin, she joined the club last month. http://www.bluebombers.com/david-siddall lists her boss's responsibilities. He's got a ton of stuff to do, both strategic (training camp, salary cap) and tactical (travel, roster transactions). Sounds like a job that could use an entire office, let alone a single assistant.
17to85 Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 I would call that a personal assistant/receptjonist/secretary gig.... assistant to the travelling secretary? Noeller, yogi, bearpants and 1 other 4
Noeller Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 I would call that a personal assistant/receptjonist/secretary gig.... assistant to the travelling secretary? was totally my first thought...
SPuDS Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 Also, kind of needs to be said, who the bleep cares. A secretary/ administrative assistant with a footballesque turn on the title.. Much ado about nothing here but I will say, much rather too many people in ops versus too few as years before..
gbill2004 Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 I would call that a personal assistant/receptjonist/secretary gig....assistant to the travelling secretary? was totally my first thought... Is George Costanza working for the Bombers now? If so, well done Wade Miller!
iso_55 Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 I'd love to work in football ops. I'd do it for free. Well, maybe not but I'd sure like it. mbrg 1
mbrg Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 I'd love to work in football ops. I'd do it for free. Well, maybe not but I'd sure like it. Last month I pulled in the Bomber lot in the morning to go to the store and thought I could get used to doing this every day.

Last month I pulled in the Bomber lot in the morning to go to the store and thought I could get used to doing this every day. I was just thinking the same thing. Except that I didn't pull into the Bomber lot last month... ...I was across the road "watching" you.

Last month I pulled in the Bomber lot in the morning to go to the store and thought I could get used to doing this every day. Ugh. Retail. Based on all the ranting that is done on the various discussion boards about the Bomber organization, I would hate actually being a part of the team that has to deal with the general public in any way. DR. CFL Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 Part of the challenge of being in a customer oriented business and trying to sell a poor product. What do you expect? It isn't a charity.
blitzmore Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 Part of the challenge of being in a customer oriented business and trying to sell a poor product. What do you expect? It isn't a charity. Wow! Didn't know that...you're one liners are so informative! SPuDS and Mr Dee 2
Floyd Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 So, are we actually complaining about the bombers having too much staff now after complaining for years that the organization was cheap and understaffed...? SPuDS 1
SPuDS Posted October 24, 2014 Report Posted October 24, 2014 So, are we actually complaining about the bombers having too much staff now after complaining for years that the organization was cheap and understaffed...? Course we are! You know how we do round here!
GCn20 Posted October 24, 2014 Report Posted October 24, 2014 I don't care if we have a 100 office staff and 60 of them are masseuses for the team...as long as we can afford to pay for them and they help produce Grey Cups.
DR. CFL Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 Well a massive increase in the coaching staff has done what for this team?
Tracker Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 Um...wait a second.....wait....um.......I got nothing.
blitzmore Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 Well a massive increase in the coaching staff has done what for this team? massive? another stupid one liner! We are now in coaching staffs where other teams have been for some time now.
