iso_55 Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 Etch needs to go. It's that simple. He's going to switch to a 3-4 defence and Oshea will claim problem solved, no need for changes. Then MOS will sink along with Etcheverry. If he gets stubborn & brings him back then he deserves to go back to the Argos as ST coach. DR. CFL 1

Without Harris run D may not be that big of a problem in this game but if they don't pressure Kevin Glenn he could pick them apart.
DR. CFL Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 The other significant stat in the win loss ratio is the turnover ratio in a game.
Fatty Liver Posted October 25, 2014 Author Report Posted October 25, 2014 I stand corrected, Antolin ran 17/157 against the RB's 2 weeks ago, so BC's running game is still a threat.
pigseye Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 No more smaller, faster. Next year I want to see a front 4 that can sack a qb, and huge receivers that Willy can see past 5 yards.
SmokinBlue Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 Etch needs to hitchhike home tonight. Complete Loser!
iso_55 Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 Today we had LaPo & Climie calling him out at halftime in short yardage & near the goal line for calling pass defending schemes instead of run. You know that it's bad when it gets to that as 99% of the time the panelists on TSN are vanilla not wanting to offend anyone associated with the CFL. But Etch is beyond defending. Fred C Dobbs 1
Doublezero Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 TSN had a stat. that in 61 out of 66 games this year the team with the most yards rushing has won the game. Seems contrary to Etch's theory that the pass is the primary determinant of wins in the CFL. Wow. I did not know that this was Etch's theory. But I fully agree with the notion that in 3-down CFL style football success on the ground spells success on the scoreboard. The field is so big and wide (of course you need balance between pass and run) but the successful run game always sets up the successful pass, not vice versa. But even if Etch is wrong on this, Bombers crap record this season isn't so much on the D as it is on the putrid O. Etch's high risk D has frequently helped score points or put the O in score position with turnovers. If the D hadn't chipped in with points in the first half of the season we'd be 1-16 right now. Small consolation, I know.

blueandgoldguy Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 Minimum one of the two coordinators will be fired at season's end. Question is which one will it be? Personally I wouldn't mind if both are gone, but I can't help but feel one of them will be retained. Could actually see special teams coach get canned as well.

I'd be surprised if they didn't purge all 3, hard to defend their records and if O'Shea does it sets up for a hostile audience next year if things don't go swimmingly. Basically the Tim Burke scenario played over, there is very little reason to even consider keeping these coordinators for next year.
gbill2004 Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 On the CJOB post game show they thought one coordinator will likely be fired and the rest kept. I'd like both Marcel and Etch gone but if it's only one, Etch must go.
iso_55 Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 After a crappy season like this & they keep 2 out of 3 & maybe all of them? Then fire MOS as he'd deserve it. The entire coaching staff under MOS really should go. What a clusterfuck if there are no changes.
Jpan85 Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 I would like them to go to the 3 - 4 some more next year.
