From today's Winnipeg Sun:

Jerrell Jackson wanted to give another football league a try, so he forced the Ottawa RedBlacks to sign him or cut him loose.

They didn't sign him, so they cut him loose. The Bombers scooped him up a few weeks ago, and he'll make his CFL debut on Saturday against the Calgary Stampeders.

“I want to go out there and help them win,” Jackson said Tuesday after a chilly practice at Investors Group Field. “It's been my goal since I got here. I'm thankful coach (Mike) O'Shea and (receivers) coach (Markus) Howell gave me this opportunity. I'm just ready to go play my heart out.”

Jackson bounced around the NFL after his college career at the University of Missouri came to a close three years ago. He got NFL chances with his hometown Houston Texans, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Kansas City Chiefs, but he didn't see any regular-season game action.

“It's been a while since I played a full game, like, since college at the University of Missouri,” Jackson said. “So I'm anxious to go out there and make some plays.”

LATE HITS

Jackson will take the roster spot of Justin Wilson ... It looks like defensive linemen Jason Vega, Greg Peach and Bryant Turner won't play this week, with Deantre Harlan, Marvin Booker and Greg Hickman taking their places ... Demond Washington (head) practised on Tuesday, and he will be reassessed on Wednesday ... Left tackle Glenn January and returner Troy Stoudermire took maintenance days ... The Bombers have added Canadian receiver Ezra Millington to their practice roster.

Why the hell is Wilson sitting instead of Romby?

I predict this will be Romby's last game of professional football.

If Romby is around, next year......fingers could - and should be pointed...

Enough already....

I've never seen a player play so much and do so little and still get to play so much and still be able to do so little.

Please...no more Ralphing on here.

As for JJ, 6' 190 lb, they are getting closer to what we need but still a bit on the small side. Gotta find a kid like BC did in Tuinei out of Oregon, 6'5", 220 lb with wheels.

Tuinei may be large and may end up being good but he certainly does not have wheels. He's essentially greg carr.

He may not have straight away speed that would contribute to a strong 40 time but his in game speed is very impressive. Long smooth strides combined with strong route running and a quick break = separation.

I watched Tuinei play in college every week. He has all the tools to be great.

Just a little interesting nuggest from the MOS PC on the official bomber site.

When asked about the difference between jackson and wilson, MOS said wilson is faster but jackson is stronger... here's the interesting nugget tho, when asked how wilson did, MOS said he did ok, he did ok in my opinion too, but MOS  said he'd like to see  Wilson used in the slot position. Well guess the question would be, why wasn't he used in the slot position?

Just based on that and some other things i've read recently, seems to me there is a bit of a disconnect between what MOS might want to see and what MB wants to see.

IMO, MB is gone in the off-season.
