B-F-F-C Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 Which team do you cheer for after the Bombers? Vote and let us know why. I voted for the Edmonton Eskimos. Was a big Warren Moon fan and quite frankly it's been a team that we've just never developed a natural hate for. Unlike the Riders and the Argos.
iso_55 Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 Just about everyone here knows I cheer for the Stamps as my second team. Reason? I've lived in Calgary since 1990 so i think it's the thing to do. I've coached football with a number of former Stamps. I spent an entire day of training camp in 2002 with the Stamps as a guest of the team & had lunch with them. Hung out with the coaches. sat in on a defensive meeting & out on the field on the sidelines with the players that day for both practices. Players treated me like I was one of their own. Lot of kibitzing & kidding around on the sidelines. Met Wally Buono that day as well as former Stamps prez Stan Schwartz who didn't seem to like me being there. Especially for lunch as he seemed to be counting pennies & I was an unnecessary expense in his mind. Greg Peterson the former safety with the Stamps kind've told him to chill & that was the end of it. Greg whispered to me that he's in big trouble now with Stan but not to worry about it. Guess Greg went ahead & set things up thru Wally but no one told Schwartz & he wasn't impressed. Bit of tension between Greg & Stan that day. I appreciated everything Greg did for me including sticking his neck out for me. But the Blue & Gold blood is still in my veins. Always will be. Rod Black 1
Mr Dee Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 There's another team after the Bombers? Brandon Blue&Gold, Jacquie and blitzmore 3
Yourface Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 Definitely Ottawa right now. I've always been one to cheer for the underdog. FrostyWinnipeg 1
Noeller Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 Not a single one. **** everyone but the Bombers for different reasons. Mr. Perfect, JohnnyOnTheSpot, Brandon Blue&Gold and 2 others 5
Mr. Perfect Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 Not a single one. **** everyone but the Bombers for different reasons. What he said. SPuDS 1
SmokinBlue Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 Edmonton, only cause i'm a huge Mike Reilly fan, Adarius Bowman, Fred Stamps and Odell Willis fan.
johnzo Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 Ottawa. I lived there for the final two years of the Rough Riders, had season tix both years. The Riders were 3-15 both years. Some great fans there, the parties after our rare victories were amazing.
Rod Black Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 To-cats. They have a long history with some real colourful players like Angelo Mosca, and John Barrow. They took pleasure in losing all those Grey Cups to the Bombers in the Grant Ploen era. This club knows how to be humble because they sure have stunk at times.
Atomic Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 Once the Bombers are out, I don't even watch anymore.
17to85 Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 The Bombers have moved between divisions too much I simply have a deep dislike for every other team. Once the Bombers are out I will hope for one team or another simply based on which team offends me least or if there's a team that has people I at least respect. Or if they're playing a team I truly despise. This year I suppose I'll root for the Stamps just because go local sports team... but I just want to watch good football in the playoffs. Brandon Blue&Gold 1
Jesse Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 I've always secretly rooted for Edmonton. Was a big fan of Ricky Ray and cheered for Edmonton over Montreal in all of the Greys Cups they got matched up in during the 2000s. Now Reilly has won me over as well.
iso_55 Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 Hate the Riders. Love to see them 0-18. That would be sweet.
TBURGESS Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 I'm going with BC, probably because I'm out here and hear a lot more about them than any other team. Also, I'm a fan of Wally Buono. Followed his career since his days in Calgary.
sweep the leg Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 I'd like to see the Lions win this year so Glenn can get a Cup. Funniest scenario would be the Als winning, after they and their coach were such a joke at the start of the season.
FrostyWinnipeg Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 For any championship I always root for the team that has gone the longest without winning so if i had to pick one id pick Ottawa.
Goalie Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 none of them but i will watch the playoffs and in the grey cup game, I'll cheer for the team who hasn't won recently. However, if it's Edmonton vs Hamilton, I might not watch cuz those 2 teams along with the ALS are the teams i can't stand the most.
Bomber Diehard Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 I think I will move over to the JETS. Goalie 1
trueBlue83 Posted November 3, 2014 Report Posted November 3, 2014 I'd say Lions because I have a bunch of friends and family who are Lions fan, and it's the city I've seen the most games outside of Winnipeg! We've had a history of trading players with them, and like someone else said, would like to see Glenn get a cup! Always felt bad about how Kelly ran him out of town, even when he was our best option! Harris is from here too! Really though, so long as the Riders lose, I don't care who wins the cup!
SPuDS Posted November 3, 2014 Report Posted November 3, 2014 Not a single one. **** everyone but the Bombers for different reasons. What he said. What they said.
SPuDS Posted November 3, 2014 Report Posted November 3, 2014 Poll missing obvs most important option.. None.
AtlanticRiderFan Posted November 3, 2014 Report Posted November 3, 2014 I would say the Riders for obvious reasons, but this really is a poll for second favourite team, which for me would probably be Toronto. Not going to vote yet though.
Jacquie Posted November 3, 2014 Report Posted November 3, 2014 I don't have a second favourite team. If I cheer for another team when the Bombers aren't playing, I base it on what would be the best result for the Bombers and/or which team I dislike the least. Mr Dee, HardCoreBlue and Goalie 3
