BomberFan Posted November 8, 2014 Report Posted November 8, 2014 Probably the most intelligent, open, honest coach I've ever had the privledge to listen to in an interview. Mike O'Shea could learn something from watching an after game interview by Paul Maurice. My drunken ranting after the Pens game leaves me feeling very embarrased. He's forgotten more about hockey than I'll ever learn. He's soley responsible for turning this team into a confident group of determined professionals, playing their best hockey since the glory days of the WHL. Maybe a bit over the top, but that's how I'm feeeling about the progression of this team right now. In the future, regardless of outcomes, I'll keep my stupid mouth shut about Paul Maurice, unless it's to say thank you for restoring my faith in my favourite team in all sports. So, that's my mea culpa for being an idiot. Too many beverages, too much passion, and not enough thought. My apologies to coach and all you great sports fans here. GO JETS!!! The Unknown Poster Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 Kudos to you for acknowledging your "rant" lol. A lot of people were critical of the Maurice hiring but he seems to be the right coach at the right time on the right team.
Brandon Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 He definitely doesn't give the "In over his head" feeling that Noel had....
The Unknown Poster Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 Noel had the reputation of being a teacher who was good with young guys. I think the jets thought that would translate well with a young team. But I think he maybe handled the players too sensitively. Maurice seems like he'd tear a strip off any player and would be respected for it.
