johnzo Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 Whole lotta retreads there. Taafe looked helpless in Hamilton, Danny Barrett was perpetually .500 in Saskatchewan, Cortez was yet another coordinator who couldn't make the jump, Lapo couldn't keep his hands off the offense... But I suppose Taafe and Buono could reminisce about Casey Printers.
M.O.A.B. Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 Whole lotta retreads there. Taafe looked helpless in Hamilton, Danny Barrett was perpetually .500 in Saskatchewan, Cortez was yet another coordinator who couldn't make the jump, Lapo couldn't keep his hands off the offense... in fairness to Lapo, he has to work with what was given to him, an offense with a broken QB, group of 1st years QBs and lesser talent all-around.
TBieber Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 BC's candidate for replacement as mentioned is some reports... - Paul Lapolice - George Cortez - Dave Dickenson - Jeff Garcia - Orlondo Steinauer - Danny Barrett - Charlie Taafe Dickenson we can take off. Buono is on record saying he wants an offensive guy, though he will still interview Steinauer by the sounds of it. I'd bank on LaPo or Garcia with Barrett as a wildcard. Tracker 1
sweep the leg Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 BC's candidate for replacement as mentioned is some reports... - Paul Lapolice - George Cortez - Dave Dickenson - Jeff Garcia - Orlondo Steinauer - Danny Barrett - Charlie Taafe Lapo, Barrett, & Steinauer would be my top 3 choices. Dickenson's not included b/c he's out of the running.
Atomic Posted December 3, 2014 Author Report Posted December 3, 2014 Steinauer and Garcia would be my top choices.
Jpan85 Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 I won't know who the best choice was or could of been till 3 years from now so I will reserve judgement on who the Lions should hire till then.
DR. CFL Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 Khari Jones? Based on what body of work? This is his third team in how many years and he will likely be looking for work again.
B-F-F-C Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 BC's candidate for replacement as mentioned is some reports... - Paul Lapolice - George Cortez - Dave Dickenson - Jeff Garcia - Orlondo Steinauer - Danny Barrett - Charlie Taafe Charlie Taafe...is he still alive? mbrg 1
17to85 Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 Khari Jones? Based on what body of work? This is his third team in how many years and he will likely be looking for work again. Well he spent a few years in Hamilton and got caught up in a coaching change, went to Saskatchewan and then got a promotion to go to BC, not like he's been run out of town everywhere he's gone.
Tracker Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 Khari is bright, personable and has been a quarterback in three places, so he ought to know what makes a good offense tick. If we are going to replace Bellefeuille, Khari Jones would be definitely worth a look. Logan007 1
17to85 Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 Hell I don't even know how good of an offensive coordinator Khari Jones is or isn't but as a shameless fanboi I want him involved in the winnipeg organization in some way. bearpants, SPuDS and Logan007 3
Noeller Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 I'm not 100% sold on Khari the OC, but Khari The Lifetime Blue Bombers Employee? That's something that should be, no questions asked.

But I suppose Taafe and Buono could reminisce about Casey Printers. I think someone already stated in this thread that there won't be much options outside of newbies and retreads... any CFL coach with a good track record will be unavailable.... only maybe/sleeper could be Scott Milanovich... Hell I don't even know how good of an offensive coordinator Khari Jones is or isn't but as a shameless fanboi I want him involved in the winnipeg organization in some way. I agree! iso_55 1
mbrg Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 Khari's chuckle always brightens the day. They would be required to use a clip of it to open OShea's daily presser with Irving.
DR. CFL Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Khari was interviewed for the OC job in Winnipeg and didn't get it. MOS obviously wasn't impressed with him ....what has changed now?
Jacquie Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Khari was interviewed for the OC job in Winnipeg and didn't get it. MOS obviously wasn't impressed with him ....what has changed now? I recall Penton saying he was a candidate but did he actually get an interview?
Brandon Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 I thought Khari interviewed for the HC job?
Noeller Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Khari said HC or nothing, they went with MOS.
Blueandgold Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Didn't the OC job come down to Khari and Marcel last off season?
gbill2004 Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Didn't the OC job come down to Khari and Marcel last off season? No. Khari clearly said he'd only come to the Bombers as HC.
Logan007 Posted December 6, 2014 Report Posted December 6, 2014 KJ might be lucky to get a job. Why? He did better then MB.
Mr Dee Posted December 6, 2014 Report Posted December 6, 2014 KJ might be lucky to get a job. Why? He did better then MB. Kerry Joseph did better than Mike Benevides? SPuDS 1
