17to85 Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 I'm not sure whats with all the Ellingson love. He had a great half of 2013 to start his CFL career, then he tailed off and got injured continuously. He'd be an upgrade over Romby or Kelly sure, but who wouldn't be? The idea is that with a couple years under his belt there's no adjustment period like you'd see with a raw rookie and he's shown he can produce and might have potential to do more. Worst case scenario you get a decent #3 option at receiver, best case he uses his experience to break out and become more than that.
Goalie Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 Ottawa will probably overpay a receiver or 2
gbill2004 Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 @AdamSchefter: Montreal WR Duron Carter, son of HOF WR and ESPN analyst Cris Carter, is closing in on an agreement with the Indianapolis Colts.
Mr Dee Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 Ottawa will probably overpay a receiver or 2 The price has already been predetermined but the cost is yet to be realized.
Mark F Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 Ricky Foley finds it within himself to address the trade. After reading this I actually kind of respect the guy. http://www.leaderpost.com/letter+from+Ricky+Foley+Riders+fans/10763797/story.html thanks, great letter by Foley.
gbill2004 Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 @PentonKirk: Looks like the #Stampeders have released Nik Lewis. #CFL
gbill2004 Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 @nikel18: Hold on hold on. I'm not saying I'm done in Calgary, I'm just grateful for everything that has happened thus far.
holoman Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 Lewis's tweet was like 4 hours ago. I'm not sure if Penton is basing his tweet off that and he's late to Twitter, or something went down
gbill2004 Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 @PentonKirk: Hmm. Wonder if the #Stamps have told Lewis they're not going to re-sign him. Here's his tweet ... #CFL @nikel18: Thank you to the @calstampeders for the 2014 highlights, so many memories in 11 yrs. I don't know what will happen next, but I am Grateful Tracker 1
Jpan85 Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 I'm told #Als will announce the signing of Canadian-born WR Austin Collie. Drafted by Indy in 4th round (127th overall) in 2009. — Herb Zurkowsky (@HerbZurkowsky1) January 28, 2015
Dr. Blue Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 I thought the Stamps told Lewis last year that it would be his last in Calgary.
Brandon Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 Ottawa will sign Nik lewis for big cash

Drafted by Indy in 4th round (127th overall) in 2009. — Herb Zurkowsky (@HerbZurkowsky1) January 28, 2015 Talented player but had some serious concussion issues with Indy. Would he be a National or International player under the new CBA?
Jacquie Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 https://twitter.com/herbzurkowsky1/status/560276794612654080Talented player but had some serious concussion issues with Indy. Would he be a National or International player under the new CBA? According to Madani, he's a national.
rebusrankin Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 Collie would be a pretty big risk, health wise.
sweep the leg Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 That's a pretty interesting signing.
M.O.A.B. Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 CFL News @CFL_News Michael Sinclair will be unveiled as #Riders defensive line coach in early February

Bang on post, I would like to add that I imagine he won't be making big money either so that adds to the appeal for teams looking for a 3rd receiver
Ripper Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 CFL News @CFL_News Michael Sinclair will be unveiled as #Riders defensive line coach in early February It was a classy move by the Riders to let Sinclair out of his contract so he could join the Bears with Trestman. He is a good coach and is another key piece of the puzzle for us switching to the pressure defence as Sinclair knows it well from his 5 years with the Allouettes
sweep the leg Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 Zurkowsky just tweeted that the presser he thought was to announce signing Austin Collie is actually for the re-signing of SJ Green. He also says that Collie is drawing interest from teams out West. My powers of deduction say that means he isn't signed by the Als yet.
M.O.A.B. Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 Edmonton Eskimos ✔ @EdmontonEsks OFF THE MARKET The #Esks announce the contract extension of DT Donny Oramasionwu Dang!

Jpan85 Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 Now he says it might be for both Green and Collie
